Again, thanks for all of the input. One reason I asked about the carbide is that on the instructions I have for a RCBS die set I have, says carbide recommended for nickel.
Forward I go!
Thanks for the feedback. Didn't want to go down a rabbit hole with a badger at the end if I could avoid it.
Most of my cases came from once fired Federal factory ammo with some brass casing from other brands. My Tikka shoots the Federal well, so I have a bunch of it.
I am new to reloading bottleneck cases. Have nearly 100 once fired nickel plated cases (Federal) in 7 MM RM. I have been told nickel can be reloaded. Any tips or pointers? Do you need carbide dies?

I must say I carry my S&W Shield most of the time (90%). This has been primarily for concealment reasons. I am smaller in stature and find it more difficult to conceal a full size. But when cooler weather comes I wil carry a GP100 or 1911. Love the GP100 but best to wear the suspenders when it...
Rabbits can and will remain very still. I have often hunted them without use of dogs and have literally stepped on them before they moved. First rabbit I ever killed was with a BB gun at ten feet. That was just 50+ years ago.
I can say I have never experienced a single issue with FFL that I have used 100% of the time. Small LGS where you know the owner by name. I have purchased several guns from him as well as multiple transfers. Great place with only a $10 FFL (+ shipping if outgoing).
Based upon my experience, I did not notice either the recoil nor noise level when I took my bull elk couple weeks ago. The 7 mag did its job. I do have a Limbsaver pad on mine. Reduced recoil noticeably, probably in range of 20-25%.
