Longer bbls are less accurate?!?! Someboby better tell Anschutz, Remington(Model 37 & 40x) and winchester(52's) because, apparently they have been doing it wrong for long time!
I'm not even sure if they had civilian laser range finders when Leupold came up with this system. It was crude at best, but better than nothing at all.
It is a range finder as such. IIRC as you turn the power ring up you can tell the yardage to the target by bracketing the target with the cross hairs. For example, if the target fits in between the points on the cross hairs @ 6x, you can tell the distance to the target by the scale on other side...
Loctite first and then heat or cold. As long as the torque of the cap exceeds the torque of the turret, you will not get anywhere. You have to create mechnical bond to hold the turrets in place before you remove the caps.
Sorry, I was overthniking the problem. I guess the heat from a hair drier couldn't hurt. Just be careful not to heat it untill the plastic softens. Or, for that matter, throwing them in the freezer, or in this weather, outside over night might work too. Let me know what works!
Don't know.
I don't know if the expansion coefficent of the plastic would be more or less than of the metal caps...it might make it better, or worse...I duuno!
