New Goex powder vs. the Old Goex powder

What’s the definition of new Goex? vs old Goex? Everyone seems to think Swiss powder is better than Goex. I don’t see any difference other than Goex costs me less. Both put lead through my target. Both result in black powder residue that has to be cleaned.

    Shipping holster sold on Gunbroker

I forced it through and it seemed to work, but took me awhile to figure that out.

    Shipping holster sold on Gunbroker

So what’s the deal? No phone number that works on Gunbroker. Sold the holster to a buyer, has a valid address, won’t let me complete transaction as not a valid address. Shows up as a residence on Zillow.

Another beautiful shotgun; Winchester Model 21.

We need better photographs in natural lighting. Some photographs suggest this shotgun may be reblued. If that’s the case, this is why it isn’t selling, not to mention $8500 is certainly up there even for a non refinished 16 gauge Model 21.

Are 12 ga shells, 2 1/2” long, available?

I’ve never actually measured them. IF that’s the case, it seems they should be A Okay. Thoughts?

Are 12 ga shells, 2 1/2” long, available?

2 3/4” shells will chamber in this 2 1/2” chambered shotgun, 1914, British. What are your thoughts? Mine are, despite this, pressures will be too great.

Are 12 ga shells, 2 1/2” long, available?

Would this work? https://www.rstshells.com/store/p/27-12-Ga-2-Paper-Roll-Crimped-Vel-1150-15/15-oz-Load-Case.aspx A bit pricy, but I only intend to fire a box of shells in this shotgun 3 or 4 times a year.

Are 12 ga shells, 2 1/2” long, available?

Are the mini shells 1 3/4” okay for a 100 year old British shotgun. And how good would this be for clay pigeons?

Are 12 ga shells, 2 1/2” long, available?

Curious if this is a possibility? Lead, #7 1/2 or #8 shot?

Skeet shooting with a side by side: What chokes are best?

It seems that while skeet and cylinder are the desired chokes, a barrel constricted .007” for a 12 ga (x2) isn’t a bad option as, technically, it’s between skeet and improved cylinder, although it’s being advertised as improved cylinder in both barrels.

Skeet shooting with a side by side: What chokes are best?

I’m guessing choked (American) Skeet and Skeet, but that’s a guess. I’ve never shot a side by side in such a configuration, and sometimes, having used modified and full, that full choke comes in handy when a clay pigeon gets too far out. I know of a shotgun constricted .007” which is being...

Removing dime sized patch of rust from rifle harrel

The photographs make it look much less obtrusive than it really is. With Renaissance Wax it’s barely noticeable and wouldn’t be a concern if this rifle wasn’t otherwise in such good shape. On a more mundane rifle, it would be an incidental finding. I’m okay as it now sets. There is one bleb...

Removing dime sized patch of rust from rifle harrel

This is where I think I’ll leave this at. The photographs make it look far worse than it really is. This “lesion” and this being approximately 34” from the points of the crescent butt, where there is some potting on this otherwise beautiful rifle leads me to believe this was stored on a gun...

Removing dime sized patch of rust from rifle harrel

I’m very happy with this rifle, 1/2 octagon Savage 1899 shipped 1901. $830 shipped, here’s where we are at now after soaking with Kroil and using a 1957 Wheat Cent penny to improve. Now soaking with Ballistol. First photograph is the “before” shot and not as bad as seller depicted.

Who should be the next NRA leader?

I’m not saying it’s right, but it’s the way things are now. I worked really hard at my job and was ignored. A black female who did nothing and has a substantial negative leave balance was promoted. The NRA has to reflect diversity to survive. I think it’s wrong, Biden stated he was picking a...

    AR 15 recent book

You are correct. They weren’t banned but severely restricted. What happened in 1986 to worsen things? Some of the most ridiculous things with regards to this is some of this stuff had to have someone pay $200 I believe in 1934 to make it registered, and if it wasn’t, it’s contraband now...

Who should be the next NRA leader?

Tom Selleck would be a good choice if you pick an old, white male. It, what I have heard called “pale, male, and stale”. Yes, the entire Board needs to be removed.

Who should be the next NRA leader?

Now you think that this would be illegal and probably grounds for removal, correct? But Biden has done this at least twice. He announced prior to selecting an individual that both his vice presidential pick and a Supreme Court pick would be a woman of colour.

Who should be the next NRA leader?

Well, I’m white and male, and middle aged, and it’s certainly hurt my career. To survive, the NRA needs someone young, and a younger white male would be an okay choice but let’s make a statement, reinvigorate this organization with a bang!
