Was there ANY Founding Father who did not own at least ONE firearm for personal use?

See attached for a reference to these 15 individuals: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Founding_Fathers_of_the_United_States These being: John Adams Samuel Adams Benjamin Franklin Alexander Hamilton John Hancock John Jay Thomas Jefferson Richard Henry Lee Robert R. Livingston James Madison...

Do you decrease potential firearms purchases because of Form 4473 & FFL interaction?

I do! What I mean by this is my FFL does a limited number of transact yearly and I feel like if I do too many, it might seem odd. Plus the handgun form for the State Police too often might seem odd. Because I’m having a transaction for a revolver that is pre 1899 but still has to go through...

.38 Special-Reloads, or not? Western wadcutters.

Does this western round appear to be factory or a emreload? I think the scores in the case longitudinally and the clear demarcation of the end termination of the sizing die suggest this may be a reload. But maybe I’m wrong. Thoughts? If factory, I can shoot. If not, then fairly useless to me.

Shipment of ANTIQUE (pre 1899) production revolver from New Jersey to Pennsylvania

Can a private individual ship an 1880 production revolver from New Jersey to another private individual in Pennsylvania? Or are the services of an FFL required in New Hersey? And does that New Jersey FFL have to ship to an FFL in Pennsylvania or can it be shipped directly to a private...

    Shipping holster sold on Gunbroker

So what’s the deal? No phone number that works on Gunbroker. Sold the holster to a buyer, has a valid address, won’t let me complete transaction as not a valid address. Shows up as a residence on Zillow.

Are 12 ga shells, 2 1/2” long, available?

Curious if this is a possibility? Lead, #7 1/2 or #8 shot?

Skeet shooting with a side by side: What chokes are best?

I’m guessing choked (American) Skeet and Skeet, but that’s a guess. I’ve never shot a side by side in such a configuration, and sometimes, having used modified and full, that full choke comes in handy when a clay pigeon gets too far out. I know of a shotgun constricted .007” which is being...

Who should be the next NRA leader?

I am a lifetime member, and so I am a part of it even though I realized Wayne LaPierre used the NRA as his personal bank account, and was useless and overpaid. He should have been ousted decades ago and no one did anything about it. The next leader really needs to be someone other than an old...

    AR 15 recent book

I was given this for Christmas: https://www.amazon.com/American-Gun-True-Story-AR-15/dp/0374103852 I’m only 100 pages into it and, so far, it’s an unbiased account of how it came to be. However, reviews reveal that it later becomes biased and anti 2A. A few years ago, I thought AR 15s should...

Explosive power, 1 lb black powder

I was given a book about the AR-15 for Christmas, I won’t go into politics about that. But the inventor, Gene Stoner, was into explosives as a kid. So my question is, how much damage or what is the power of one pound of black powder, as I’m assuming that’s what he had and set off when he was...

    When were 2 5/8” chambers supplanted by 2 3/4” chambers,12 ga

For years, I had wanted a chamber and choke gauge but balked at the $55 cost. I had been hoping to find one second hand for less, but fear that the company that produces these might founder caused me to purchase one as an early Christmas gift to myself. So, let’s start with when was the 2 3/4”...

Removing dime sized patch of rust from rifle harrel

95 to 98 % firearm, otherwise, with, very sadly, this patch of rust. I will post before and after photographs once I have the rifle. What penetrating oil, such as machine oil, Kroil, Ballistol, etc works best and how much contact time before using a pre 1982 penny to remove rust spot?

H & R USRA Pistol and modified butt of grip

I had originally posted this in the repairs section thinking I’d just plug the holes in the butt of the grip, or maybe not, and now that I have the pistol in hand, I won’t. Presumably this late 1930s pistol was used in competition shooting. But why the two holes in the grip and, even more...

    Original .40-65 Loads

As designed for the Winchester Model 1886 rifle: From what I can gather, the original black powder load was a 260 grain bullet, presumably in front of 65 grains FFg powder. If loading today, I would just fill the case 1/16” to 1/8” higher than the base of the bullet as seared, possibly this...

    H & R USRA holes in grip

What would you do about this and/or are period identical grips available, although I’m not inclined to replace.

H & R U.S.R.A. Model Single Shot Pistol ammunition question

Can one safely fire high velocity .22 LR ammunition in this pistol, or is it best to stick to standard velocity ammunition?

Would you fireform this case or discard?

Brand new, shoulder crimped, .303 Savage, will presently chamber in a Savage 1899 rifle. I hate to be wasteful.

Improvement to Savage Fox Sterlingworth stock

Refinishing not an option, I’ll leave it as is instead, but anything come to mind to improve this, and not sure how it even happened. 1933 production 20 gauge Utica Fox Sterlingworth. Purchased sight unseen from a friend/gun dealer and because he’s a friend, I didn’t back out of the deal, even...

How would you go about buying a British shotgun?

This is a very preliminary question. Definitely on my bucket list, and someday I’ll make it happen? First, anyone ever done it? Such as a Purdey? Or perhaps Holland & Holland? I’m mostly interested in non restored/non refurbished, even though this is okay with regards to these. Definitely...

Sir Michael Gambon antique firearms collection

In the third paragraph of the “Fell off the stage” section of this article, the following is mentioned: “Away from acting, he collected and restored antique guns…” https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-39408742.amp Any idea what he collected?
