I have the atr and MVP both in .308. they are great rifles. the bolts have a little more wiggle the Savages but that does not both the speed much. They both come with Iron sights which is a strong selling point for me. I planning on buying another atr soon
In western Kansas we do not have much woods. Walking around pastures though I carry a mossberg 100 atr in .308, with a vortex diamondback 3-9. Use it mainly for target practice while I walk around checking fence.
