    Hornady vs Lee loading data

I'm pretty new at this, but when in doubt I start low and work my way up.

.355". I guess this one has been solved. Thank you all for helping me figure this out.

Ammo prices: rising, leveling off, dropping?

You crazy?! This is not Ukrainian nationalism, this is Ukraine trying to steer away from going back to being a Soviet puppet. Pick your source of info more carefully, don't only listen to Putin's propaganda. However this is a thread about ammo so I'm just going to stop here on this.

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

In my case it looks like I got the wrong bullets. It was my fault I let the salesman talk me into this "bargain" buy. I just wanted to be open minded and try suggestions, plus I was in a hurry, but I guess I'll just stick to what I know from now on.

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

You got a mighty good point. Will measure when I get back home.

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

No crimp ring. It is a Winchester 130gn FMJ that I don't think I will be getting again. Thank you, I ordered a hammer puller, canceled the collet one. So many great tips, thanks you people!

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

So I guess every now and then we'll just get crappy brass? How do you extract a bullet when it sinks so darn deep?

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

So you feel the hammer is better? It's not too late to cancel my order..

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

Thank you for the welcome SAGEEN! I did narrow it down to the brass but I didn't have the bullet puller hence the ugly mess. However I ordered the RCBS one, not the hammer. It made sense when reading at the reviews. Plus it seems that it's less messy.

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

Yes, rolling crimp from the seating die. I can post a picture of it from a good round, let me know if that's needed. Holy crap! I didn't know I can save primers. I had three cases that I pulled out of the batch and was going to throw them away, but I did gently de-cap them and it worked like a...

Tell me about the Ruger gp100

Let's see if you'll dab a bright color nail polish on the front sight too. I found myself compelled to do it after some shooting.

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

Yep, bullet was within normal. The one I extracted without damaging went into a different casing and fit perfectly.

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

I know, not very graceful. Looks like my can opener was in play here. Guess what I just ordered from Amazon..

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

Die is fine. All my blazers and PMCs are solid. And I have too few of these to fix. Plus, isn't is easier (and cheaper if you give your time any worth) to just toss these and pick up a few from the range next time. NOT the same brand!

Bullet sinking when pushed with finger?!

While reloading two of my .357 shells (recovered from the range, first reload) simply swallowed the bullets when pushed with finger. Cases have been resized and the flare was minimal. All the rest of my cases are solid with the exact same treatment, same bullet, same everything. Never had...

Tell me about the Ruger gp100

When i read the original post I was under the impression that this was supposed to be a 4" (4.2) barrel. But this on the video definitely looks like 6".

Oh, and tell your wife before she finds out. It's bad business otherwise.. :)

Tell me about the Ruger gp100

$420 is a steal for that handgun! Plus your 9mm cleaning kit will fit right in for your GP, so that's good too. Since you're reloading you'll find it convenient that the Lee die set for 38spl also can be used for .357 Mag with minor adjustments. I love my 4" GP100. Now I just need a carabine...
