    Alliant R-15.. 223/5.56 loads?

26.5 grains R-15 with 55 grain FMJ is a max load. I found that 25.5 grains of R-15 with an OAL of 2.20" is the most accurate load in my gas-gun. Good shooting!

    RL 25 in the 6.5X55?

If R-19 is available, that's the powder to go to. With 140 gr. bullets the charge is 45.0 grains max for both R-19 and R-22. You'll lose only 30 fps with the R19. You will run out of case capacity with mid to max loads using the R-25. Good shooting.

Load data needed for .40 plated + Power Pistol

It's awfully hard to beat Longshot powder in the .40 cal. with any bullets.

    .308 loads for short barrels

Hard to beat IMR-4064 for what you have there... I say that because I have the same gun in the same caliber and use 150gr. to 168gr. bullets exclusively in that rifle.

    Pin Hole In Primer

I'm guessing a burr on the bolt face is the problem... even a very minor imperfection would cause this type of blowout. Back to the factory and let them have a look see, maybe a new bolt from them would cure this hiccup... they don't like bad press! Just sayin'.

    It's like the opposite of a hollow-point

It's obviously of the male persuasion... sorry, just had to do it. :D

    Flat vs. Hollow Base

Go with the 6.9 grains of ACCURATE #5 for a starting load... the maximum is 7.5 grains with that powder. The OAL is always important! OAL with that bullet should be 1.250"

    Hazzardous Day at the Range

Just a thought... whenever I see a string of shots that run vertically I think of a too warm barrel. In this "hurry up" world we live in, 5 minutes between shots seems an eternity... but watch those groups shrink when that occurs. Good shooting!

    .44 Special Reloads

I would have to agree with the users of .44 mag. cases loaded with either of the powders you have using the ".44 mag. starting loads" in any of the various loading manuals. Availability of the mag. brass and the thought of using it also for full throttle loads along with less cleaning gets my...

    Pet load's for .357 mag ?

I concur on that Alliant 300-MP powder... GOOD STUFF! Not much data out there for this newer powder, but after burning 3 pounds of it through various handguns I have load data for most magnums using a variety of bullets from .357 to .460 if anyone should like. In most instances more...

    Case lubrication

I hear a lot about sizing lubes, but not one mention of the importance of inside/outside neck lubrication with any of the variety of dry lubes that are available. Kits are available with various size brushes along with the media and holder, most use MICA as the dry lube. The kits are usually...

To turn brass or just buy better brass

I'm surprised Nosler was left out of the quality brass available to the reloaders in this forum. IMHO they put out the best bang for your buck... literally! Their custom brass is just that, and the prices are much better than Norma or Lapua.

    Cast 40 S&W data

That data for the 180 grain LRN will be just fine for that bullet you're casting. I also have done the powder coating, but found that it limits the velocity before lead fouling occurs while the ALOX coated bullets can be pushed another 1000 fps or more before any leading problems, but to each...

    Copper Bullets

Here's my thought... save your money and be less aggravated with the bonded bullets. They cost less, are nearly as tough (unless you're shooting elephants I wouldn't worry about any solid bullet, rather copper, steel, or whatever), are more accurate 99 and 44/100% of the time. BUT, if you insist...

    Cast 40 S&W data

140 gr. LRN: 8.2 to 11.2 grains Longshot 155 gr. LRN: 7.2 to 9.0 grains Longshot 165 gr. LRN: 6.6 to 7.5 grains Longshot 180 gr. LRN: 6.0 to 7.2 grains Longshot As there are many types of nose designs, the OAL's will vary of course. The best tip is to taper crimp at the front edge of the...

Crimp on a .357 Magnum Hunting Load

The best measure for checking a crimp is to fire a full cylinder of your loads... if the bullets don't back out you got it right! Also, concerning the trimming of the case to the length that Hornady states isn't necessary if the OAL doesn't interfere with cylinder rotation, their reasoning is...

Ways to make a digital scale more reliable?

All digital measuring devices should use a dedicated electrical circuit for the most accurate readings, meaning a receptacle that is directly wired to the power box with no other amperage draws. If one of these is not available, which is usually the case in home wiring, either have one put...
