I tried havahart traps for chipmunks but I kept catching birds. I didn't feel good about the way they'd panic and flap their wings hard enough in the trap to injure themselves. I got a .25 Marauder. Not a cheap setup, but very quiet and shoots dime sized groups at 35 yards with no wind. Wind...
The best thing you can do to get people on your side, regardless of party affiliation, is take them to the range. The only was to demystify and remove the fear of guns is to have people shoot them. I've changed a lot of minds over the years.
The NRA has morphed into a GOP only organization...
Exactly. Politicians in a primary run are catering to the extremes of their parties, not the majority near the center. I know a lot of people who own guns and believe strongly in the 2nd Amendment but vote Democratic because they aren't single issue voters and the Democrats better represent...
If I could have only 3 they would be a classic A2, a heavy barrel precision for accurate long distance shooting, and an 8.5" long 300 BLK (requires an SBR tax stamp).
Those 9mm "pistol" kits look like a lot of fun but I'm going to withstand the urge to buy one knowing that the BATF can make them illegal again with a single letter. Too bad because the low price of 9mm ammo would make it a hoot as a plinker. I already have a tax stamp for an SBR lower that I...
Funny story... I let my membership lapse when they went through their "jackbooted thugs" phase in the 90's. When a re-joined and sent in for 2 years of membership I got several "your membership is expiring soon" notices before my membership card had arrived in the mail.
I've always done it by hand with a couple twists. I can't imagine mounting it in a drill would speed up the process. Any cutter will over cut if you run it fast and use force.
As far as "the times have changed", I wish parents would adjust to this and start locking up their guns. Even the best teenager is an unpredictable creature filled with boiling hormones on an emotional roller coaster. My son was a good kid who I took to the range regularly but he didn't have...
Maybe, maybe not. That's why we need some transparency.
I know for certain that trips to Russia and quarter million dollar wardrobes don't have anything to do with fighting for our rights.
Playing devil's advocate... If I knew that an organization that was lobbying Congress for something that disagreed with my political views was committing fraud I'd be very interested.
Is there an explanation for why WLP and his posse need to travel overseas? I've sent the NRA money for decades because I want them to promote safe shooting and protect my rights here in the US. How are boondoggles to Europe furthering those goals?
10 years or so ago I got curious and compared various brands of bulk .22LR that I had bricks of. I probably had at least one brick of every popular brand. Blazers were the most accurate with the least number of FTF's. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever had a FTF with Blazers. Goldens were at...
I bought one as an impulse buy last week. I was buying ammo and on a lark asked to look at it. It had a good fit and finish and the trigger has a nice crisp break. My son and I have put about 250 rounds through it and are very happy with it. It's my first and only Taurus. So far, so good.
My state doesn't have a class requirement for a permit. Is it normal for the class to provide the firearm and ammunition? I would think part of the test would be to prove familiarity with your own weapon.
I wish i shared your thought but I work a lot in Reynosa Mexico. I have friends who have been shot as innocent bystanders and two who've been kidnapped from their homes and beaten in cases of mistaken identity. The cartels are ruthless and don't have the same values you see potrayed in old...
