It's a shooter's preference.....I've had Model 29's, super Blackhawks, Taurus 44, and presently a 629 - 8 3/8". I prefer the S&W slightly, but only shoot single action. I'm a lot more accurate with it than a 357 or 45. Just remember your ear muffs....
