I can't offer a beter suggestion than you mentioned. Many S&W revolvers have good triggers.....Two of mine can be shot by most any one. You will just have to go to some gun shops and ask if you can dry fire some of their revolvers. Get her a 38 with a 4" barrel and load it with 125 gr +p...

With respect, steel wool will leave tiny pieces of steel that will cause future rusting.....stainless steel will not..

Get a stainless steel scowering pad at most any store....the very coarse kind. Soak it in most any oil, gun oil, 3 in 1, etc. This will remove the rust and not harm the bluing.......I've done it more than once, it works. The pads usually come two to a box.
