After reading all the internet hype, I loaded up some 158gr XTPs with L'il Gun and expected my GP100 to melt, but it shot quite nice and I didn't notice any excess heat on the barrel or revolver. I'm not going to target shoot with it but use it as a hunting or defensive load. I was near max load...

I used a starting load for a 200 grain bullet using 296 and worked up from there and it shot nice in my gp100 and carbine.

Anyone have experience loading a heavy lead bullet using L'il Gun? I have a hunters supply 190gr lead round nose with no gas check rated for 1600fps. I've shot them ok with 296, but I'm concerned with the higher temp of L'il Gun. Thanks, Gary

LGS in NH seems to have plenty 296/110 past few weeks. 110 was $175 for 8lb, 296 was $180. In general seems like powder is more available these days, although I still can't find 2400...

I just noticed Lee has an undersized sizing die for .38 special, I think this is what I need for now...

It seems like I'll have to pick one, get a 9mm sizer and add a step, or put up the $ for an rcbs set and hope the sizer isn't on the high side too...

Thanks for all of the great info guys! I'll try to respond to everything... I'm using all lee equipment and dies (4 die set). I'm using a 125gr Berrys plated HP bullet, no cannalure. I'm no longer buying bullets without a cannalure, but since these weren't seated strong, I crimped anyway...
