Tell me about Howa bolt action rifle.

I have never actually seen one in my neck of the woods, but I have read about them a little. What is their quality like? How do they compare to a Ruger American/M77 or CZ527?

    Shooting Crony Voltage

Has anyone successfully run the Shooting Crony on anything other than 9V cell? I am thinking about hooking lights and the crony on 12v or 13.8v but not sure if safe.

I wish REI and Costco would sell ammo.

I read in the news that there are some activist Ruger shareholder who is petitioning the Ruger about what they are doing about gun violence. https://www.wsj.com/articles/sturm-ruger-shareholders-vote-to-force-firm-to-reveal-more-about-gun-violence-issues-1525901684 So I think it is very...

I wish REI and Costco would sell ammo.

While I like the price/selection from Walmart. I also spend considerable amount of money with these 2 companies and they both have excellent rebate scheme. I get a 10% annual dividend with REI and about 3% Rebate with Costco credit cards and exec membership. I would want to spend my rebate on...

I wish REI and Costco would sell ammo.

I do reload but on a single stage so it is to much effort but for some caliberswhen the same can be bought cheaply. And most of the professionals I know who live in my city that are left leaning and members of REI are gun owners and pro-gun. I have a very left leaning friend who works for Whole...

I wish REI and Costco would sell ammo.

Not at all. Their boards should reflect the will of their members. When I voted in their board election I find that there no obvious way for me to make my opinions known.

I wish REI and Costco would sell ammo.

I paid for membership for Costco and REI and would like some pointers on rallying other members to lobby for ammo sales for the benefit of their members. I spend more money than I like on ammo and really would help if these two member's club would carry them. I buy most of my outdoor stuff from...

    7.62x39 Ruger American

Ruger American in 7.62x39 at about $450 street price has a lot gong for it, especially if you reload. 7.62x39 Ammo is cheap and widely available. From experience, useful range for 7.62x39 is about 150 Meters, which is probably what 80% of folks have access to in terms of space. If you reload...

    77/357 Sights and Suppressors

My 77/357 is one of my favorite and gets its share of rough handling, because of this I have broken the sights a few times already. I have replaced the rear with NEGC peep sights which hopefully would be a bit more robust. Now I am thing about getting my 77/357 suppressed . I have no idea...

    Looking for fun in .32cal

I'm looking for something fun for the range in .32 cal, mostly because I have the components to load and it seems a nifty caliber. Was initially looking for a PPK or CZ82 or Beretta 81, but these seems to be rare in the US. Also looked at 327 Fed from Ruger, but again seems nobody stocks them...

What kind of chamber is this?

I picked these 7.62x39 up at the range the other day and noticed some of the cases has a partially expanded case neck. Is this a special type of chamber or is it caused by an malfunction?

Which rifle for the curious reloader?

Didn't managed to get any dies with this lot, the guy who sold it to me sold everything he can on eBay and left me with only thing he cannot ship or eBay wouldn't permit. At least several hundred Nosler/Hornady partition bullets for each caliber, a shoe box full of 270 bullets but only 20pcs of...

Which rifle for the curious reloader?

Absolutely agree! Bullet puller already on order. There were a small amount that was loaded but otherwise most of the brass were de-primed or had live primers on them. I do not know the Estate owner personally, but his beautiful .222 Sako Mannlicher is hanging on the shelf of a LGS at the...

Low recoil option for 20GA SxS?

My Sister is very recoil sensitive and I'm looking for a way to make clay shooting more enjoyable for her. We are casual shooters and I own a 20ga Side by Side. At most I go out to the trap club 4-5 times a year, and my sister shoots maybe 1-2 time a year. Between us we only go through about...

Why are 7.62x39 not common in bolt action rifles?

Just curious, 7.62x39 is a very common and economical cartridge yet it seems only CZ, Ruger and Win/Zavata makes one. Why is it not more common?

With the recent discussion in pistol caliber carbine and being a new reloader, I got think in getting a new rifle when I get my tax money back. Looking for something that is fun and easy to reload for, 38/357 seems to be where that sweet spot is. My search turns up a M77 in 357 and Henry...
