I'm soon going to be running a tabletop roleplaying campaign where the PCs will be federal agents from various departments brought together as a "spot solution". They'll be attached to various local branches of various federal law enforcement agencies.
The question I have have to do with the...
My grandfather received this "Japanese sniper rifle" as a souvenir from the U.S. Navy. I don't think it's either of the Arisaka models used by the Japanese--no magazine.

There's an identical marking on the receiver just behind the sights...
Does anyone actually have a link to a survey or data or something that says that?
I've tried Googling but I've not gotten anywhere. I tried looking on www.keepandbeararms.com, but they don't have much about this subject.
Also, helpful would be something about how just displaying a gun will...
Usually, I read threads like this. But I was surfing THR and my dad walked in from the truck and handed me a Remington Model 31. He bought it for $100.
12 gauge. There's a "28" underneath the model number. The follower (I think that's what it's called--the thing that moves the shell from the...
Just curious here, but...
The woman is wearing western gear, but the revolver just looks a bit too advanced. It just looks...out of place. Weird. I'd expect, a Schofield or a SAA or...something else.
Can anyone help me out here?
Anyone use a Polychoke or a Polychoke II, specifically with the muzzle brake?
Anyone find them useful?
I'm thinking of getting one put on a general purpose pump action shotgun.
et's see if this myth can be proved or disproved:
Have you seen anyone ever actually breaking or spraining their wrists firing a sawed-off shotgun or large handgun?
IMO, the worst you would do is smack yourself in the face.
None of this friend of a friend or on a post somewhere, first person...
Two questions...
1) The Pardner Pump is a copy of the 870. I'm lefthanded. Is the 870 compatible ejection wise with left-handed shooters?
2) When I get around to going shooting for the first time, I'll need eye protection. I wear prescription glasses.
Are most/any shooting glasses made...
I've got a Mosin-Nagant M44 and am not actually educated (yet!) on the practical aspects of inspecting and shooting firearms.
How can I tell if the bore is in good shape or not?
Pictures of a good bore vs. bad bore would be helpful here.
Thinking of getting something like this:
http://www.google.com/products?q=SKS+chest+rig&btnG=Search+Products
I'd want whatever I get to hold Mosin-Nagant stripper clips, or other types of stripper clips or mags for when I expand my collection in the future.
If I could find a butt cuff...
How is the 5.45 different from the 5.56?
See, I had this thought that the Russians, having made the transition to a small-caliber high-velocity round ten years after the West, would have looked at the performance of the 5.56 and improved it.
Is this true?
I read on another, older thread on...
If you have a 1920's era pump shotgun and a 20's era flashlight, and you tape the flashlight to the shotgun, the flashlight lens bulb wouldn't break if you shot the gun, would it?
I heard of one guy who kept an AR with a collapsing stock in one.
You could easily fit a folding stock short-barrel rifle in one. It certainly doesn't look like a gun case. The standard size (from me looking at tennis racquets on Amazon.com) is 27 inches or so. Plenty of room for a folding...
