I replaced the cotter pin with a large safety pin cut in half and bent on the end to keep it in place, worked better than the paper clip for me. Smoother and stiffer than the paper clip. ymmv
Have had mine for about a year. Paid 199.00 +tx. Accurate little gun, no malfunctions after about 1000 rds. Light and easy to conceal. I have trimmed the one magazine to fit flush. Trigger is different, but easy to master. Has digested everything I have fed it, including my handloads. A bonus is...
Inspect the plastic piece (Flexible primer orifice) on the bottom of the primer magazine for damage or wrong part (small primer=blue, lg. primer=red) I have had an intermittent primer drop with a damaged orifice before. the two fingers on the orifice had become weak causing primers to hang...
I own two 550's and a SDB. All three have been great machines. The first 550 is roughly twenty years old and other than minor issues (some self inflicted) has run great through thousands of rounds. I prefer the 550 due to larger work area, ability to back up if needed, two chances to view...
I have 2 550b's and a SDB. The 550 is a workhorse with very few issues for me in 20+ years. The fifth station is to me is a solution for a questionable problem, you have 2 chances to visually check your powder levels, once when you set the bullet and once when you upstroke after charging, so I...
I know the discussion is about the P320, but the P250 and P320 have a lot of common parts. I purchased a P250 in .45 acp based on the ability to easily change both calibers and grips pretty much at will, which is possible if you can find the kits at a reasonable price. I ordered a .357 sig...
I bought the grease gun on Ebay.It does not use a cartridge. Bought a tub of grease at the auto parts. Dillon told me they use wheelbearing grease when they do a refurb.:)
I use wheel bearing grease in a small needle tipped grease gun used to grease air tools on both of my 550's. Cost for the gun was about ten bucks. Works great.
This company also offers a powder baffle for the Dillons if you are interested, I haven't ever seen the need for one on my Dillons, but they are available.
Loading 6.6 grs. of CFEpistol. 2.5 inch groups at 15 yds. Sorry don't have a chrono. C.O.L 1.135. I have found that if I use my .40sw Lee bulge buster with the Hornady dies I don't have to lube very much. It saves some time for me. I do use the Lee bottleneck crimp die and have had no issues...
Better here in N. Alabama, Picked up Unique, 231, Hp38 and Titegroup in last 2 weeks. They had a lot of WSF and WST also. No CFE pistol yet. Even had PB. Rifle powders are plentiful.:)
My initial higher cost of the equipment from Dillon has always paid off down the road with Dillons No B/S warranty! Whether I had a problem either self induced or a machine issue, they have always been quick to address the problem. Could be why I have three of their loaders on my bench.
I load pulled bullets purchased from RMR all the time with great success and considerable savings. I can load FMJ's nearly at the price of plated. Have never ran into an issue as of now.
