30 of 32 died after the cops arrived

"In the end the decision to go or stay and wait for backup was not answered, it is left up to the individual officer." This is similar to the policy of the department I work for when an active shooter is encountered. It's left up to the individual officer arriving on scene whether to go in...

Cylinder length on Webley Mk V .455

Anybody have a Webley in .455 that they can measure the length of the cylinder on? Trying to figure out if mine is stock or has been milled down to accept .45acp on moonclips. My cylinder measures 1.445 +/- .001 to .002 in spots. Gratuitous pic attached:D

    Help ID a Mauser

It appears that it cocks when the bolt is turned to open. Don't need to pull the bolt back....just turn it up and back down. "These may not be the safest rifles to shoot due to the shortened receiver." Hmmm, anything to this? Kinda got me worried.

    Help ID a Mauser

On top of the receiver is what is drawn in the attached pic. Below that is "1954". On the left side of the receiver is what I guess is the serial number of "4096" and then a "98." and a "Th." The bolt and magazine floorplate have different 4 digit numbers. Haven't taken it apart yet...

    Help ID a Mauser

Got this from my Dad and not sure of the county of manufacture or model. Guessing by the long (29") barrel it's not a K98. Would that make it a plain ole' Mauser 98? Any help appreciated. Bad pics attached.

What is the most accurate revolver you own?

may be cheating, but...... My Bob Jones built PPC gun...1 1/4" diameter 6" Douglas barrel, Aristocrat Tri set sight rib, incredible double action only trigger job. Built on a new 66-6 4", converted to .38 only. Followed closely by a Travis Strahan built PPC gun that started life as a K38...

    Best Smith and Wesson Auto

Well, we've had a 645, 745 and 945....I'll do my part for the family portrait and add my 845. Very tight, VERY accurate, excellent single action trigger. It's performed well in PPC matches.

    S&W frame/Dan Wesson barrels?

Hmm, good question....I'll check on that. Off the top of my head no external mods such as sight ribs, bull or slab barrels. I guess my confusion is whether they distinguish between factory configuration (which could be done with aftermarket parts) or factory configuration with the OEM parts...

    S&W frame/Dan Wesson barrels?

Ok, found the link on Gunbroker. http://gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=25101613 Alright, "buy it now" for $1,595.00....they only made 6 of them in .357. It has historic/collector/sentimental value but that's still an awful lot of cash. Is there that much gunsmithing involved to...

    S&W frame/Dan Wesson barrels?

I'm on the hunt for new revolvers for the Service and Distinguished matches for PPC events. I've been trying to love a new-to-me Dan Wesson 15-V6 for the Distinguished, but can't get used to the trigger. The DW's accuracy is right where I want it, though. I saw an "experimental" model on...

What do you think of the ACE AR-15 stocks?

What is a good price. -seen $75-$110 Does it use standard buffer and tube? -full length uses standard tube/buffer, short "entry" stock uses CAR bits What is the quality like? (I have never seen one in person). -don't have mine yet, heard all good things Are there other makes of...

    S&W M19-4 info???

Randy, very nice Took the M19-4 shooting today and was very pleased with it's performance. Ran some Federal .38 +P, Federal .357, Rem .357 Hi Vel and Blazer .357 through it. It performed well with all and was utterly smooth, or is that buttery smooth? ;)
