winchester 94 AE not loading next round?

Thanks fr the response. this was indeed the problem. I hit it with some gun scrubber in a nozzle bottle. Appears to have blasted any of the gunk holding it up right out. Cycles flawlessly now.

winchester 94 AE not loading next round?

Hey guys, a couple years ago my uncle gave me his 1980 Winchester 94 AE in 30-30. Beautiful rifle, but lately I've had an issue. The first round will feed from the tube fine. However, the next round gets pushed by the follower, but the small metal tab that prevents the rounds from pushing...

standard SKS mag is falling out of my rifle

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the feeback. I'm in Central NY. I'll have to take it to a welder then I guess. Or do you think a little JB touch up/liquid steel may do the trick durably?

standard SKS mag is falling out of my rifle

That was the same conclusion I reached too :( Is there anyway to add a bit of metal back to them? I'd hate to have to replace the original trigger group.

standard SKS mag is falling out of my rifle

Do you mean a new trigger group plate? That's what the first picture is of.

standard SKS mag is falling out of my rifle

Yep that is exactly how I am assembling it. Rocking the front of the mag in the front so it slides into the slot. Then I take the trigger group and slide it in so the prongs slide around the notch in the back of the mag......I can physically pull the mag right out from there unless the bottom of...

standard SKS mag is falling out of my rifle

I am more than a little peeved by this to say in the least. Started a post last night on it but I thought I had it fixed. I have a 1954 Tula sks All numbers matching except for the standard mag. It. WIll. Not. Stay. In! Every time I open up the bottom to let rounds out of the loaded rifle the...

My factory SKS mag falls out, help!

I got it. Turns out the triggers plate retention spring was sideways so that little bit alone seems to have been enough to allow play and for the mag to drop out. Man that was finicky!

My factory SKS mag falls out, help!

OK so I have struggled with this friggin thing for an hour now. It's a russian 1954 tula laminate stock SKS. Whenever I go to empty loaded rounds out of the mag the whole damn assembly falls out on me. I know you rock the assembly into place with the trigger group out, then slide the pin on the...

My first AK build: using the barrel as a buckign bar? Go or no go

So here in NY state it's impossible to find the only safe act compliant AK the saiga sporter so I am going to assemble my own NY safe act compliant AK from A Polish AKM kit. The kit I ordered is from Arms of America and has the nitrided barrel already headspaced and installed into the trunnion...

    Is a Yugo 24/52c just a rearsenaled czech vz24/g24t?

So I'd essentially be getting an unissued vz24. That's great! I think I'll take the vz24/52c instead of the 24/47. The 47 is about 60 dollars less but from what I've heard the Czech models tend to be better quality on average.

    Is a Yugo 24/52c just a rearsenaled czech vz24/g24t?

^From what I've heard that company was probably Mitchell's Mausers: who are notorious for shady product descriptions.

    Is a Yugo 24/52c just a rearsenaled czech vz24/g24t?

Thanks. That's about what I figured. Do you know if the refurbed vz24 's were purchased directly from the Czechs, or if they were captured during the war when the yugoslavs pushed the Germans out? Either way 300 dollars for a refurbed to like new condition vz24 seems like a good deal to me...

    Is a Yugo 24/52c just a rearsenaled czech vz24/g24t?

I found a "Yugo mauser 24/52c" for sale for $300 online. I was wondering if these are just the same as a yugo 24/47 with intermediate action, or if a 24/52c is a captured cazech vz24/g24t with the large ring 98 action since the Germans issued something like 350,000 of them to troops. So is it a...

Anyone have information on 1895 Chilean Mauser Carbines?

My neighbor has a modelo 1895 Chilean Mauser that was produced in Ludwig Loewe, Germany in 1895. I've seen dozens of youtube videos of the long rifle version.Hers however is the short rifle variant: not the super short cavalry one but the intermediate carbine one. It has a bent down bolt too...

What to buy? AKM or SKS?

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess I'll go with a grade A SKS then. Or if I'm lucky a saiga 7.62 sporter if I can find one since they're the only NY legal AK. It just seems like $625 is pricey since I know only two years ago they could be had for 400-500 dollars :(

What to buy? AKM or SKS?

Thanks guys, I guess I'll go with the SKS then. Next question. Should I go with classic arms grade A SKs, or their Grade B? Here's the links. It seems liek grade B just means further cosmetic wear but nothing mechanically wrong or shot out so bad that it can't hit the barn from the inside. What...

What to buy? AKM or SKS?

I've heard tech sights for the SKs do wonders. I'll have to look into those. Yeah the bringback AK is wishful thinking since it's totally illegal for him to transfer it of course (he's the vet who brought it back and has papers and everything approved and license). But a guy can dream right...

What to buy? AKM or SKS?

Also, I've heard that SKSs have thicker heavier duty barrels than most AKms. Is this true? Would that explain partly why AKM barrels seem to have more barrel flex than an SKS?
