    Which one should I buy?

If it's purpose is only for fun (nothing wrong with that... I have many such firearms), then go for the better deal.

    South Dakota

Went to visit the area a few days ago. Absolutely gorgeous country. Hope to join the population before long. Thank you everyone for the info and opinions.

    thank goodness that is over

I've had 4 knee surgeries now. Each one leaves me at home and immobile for about 12 weeks. The first 3 I tried and failed at reloading. It was painful to sit at the bench. The fourth one, I did some trading and got a rough carbine and worked on making it new (easy with it being a Hi-Point...

    South Dakota

Well, regardless of the views, I will carry daily as I do here. Just picked up a new XDS 9mm last month in anticipation of a move and bought the wife a XDM-9. Being that my ccw will expire in November, I'll probably just renew it and get a new one over there to ensure we're covered. Thanks...

    South Dakota

Looks like I will be moving to Chamberlain, South Dakota soon. Does anybody have any experience of the CCW/Firearm Culture in that area? Any place to do some shooting nearby? I've already did the Google search, just wanted to know if anybody had first hand experience/knowledge. Thanks...

    good, bad, ugly of Kentucky?

I live in Western Kentucky (Hancock County). Except for while I was in the Army, I"ve lived here my whole life. While we have pretty good gun laws (open carry state and good CCDW laws), we do have some progressive politicians who are an embarrassment. We also have some liberal leaders in...

bothersome range sessions with friends (sometimes)

Friends are overrated Family is better. I'm the "weird uncle" that brings a trunk full of guns and ammo to family events for all the adults and children to shoot. I do a quick safety briefing and spend one on one time with each child.

What is YOUR favorite Conceal carry gun?

I traded my Kel-Tec PF9 for the SCCY CPX-2. My new favorite (for now).

    Ruger 22/45

I had the target model. This was the most accurate pistol I've ever shot. Taught many people how to shoot pistols with this. I cleaned it every 500 rounds, but not out of necessity. I honestly can't remember a single problem. I sold mine last year for a new ccw (getting rid of most of my...

    Bought a Hi-Point Carbine

I traded for one 2 years ago. It was old and dirty. Stripped it down and realized it needed a new stock, so I called Customer Service. They walked me through a detailed inspection of the internals and sent me a new firing pin, spring, stock, and some other odds and ends for free. Then they...

44 magnum, too much "neck tension" for cast

For my .44 Magnum, it prefers a fat cast bullet. I use a Lee Precision Universal Flaring Die to bell the case mouth enough for a great fit. Just don't bell too much or you will have different problems. Just start slow and bell it a little at a time.

    Books about reloading

Speer makes a good manual. I've also read Lee's (not too bad) manual. The Lyman Cast Bullet Manual is great on learnign the technical stuff concerning lead. Also, the ABC's of realoading is a great read.

How much does it cost you for a year at your range

$45 per year. Place has pistol bays set up for USPSA, a 200 yard range, 50 yard covered rifle ranges and 100 yard ranges with benches. Also has a place for clays.

'Loosening' of KY gun law I'm not sure I support

Decided my comment was too polarizing. I'll just stay quiet.

How much cheaper to load 9mm?

Hey all! There's a cheaper way, as many of you know. Loading bullets you cast yourself will extremely reduce the amount you pay per round. I get my lead for free at the tire shop with every oil change. I'm not sure how much primers are now, but the one's I'm using were $32/1000. The...
