Has Lee stopped selling this press because of the few problems? Have been thinking about buying one to replace my Pro 1000 but no one has any in stock.
I have been using the Vortex Venom on my SFX for 3 years and it has been great. Still on the same battery but it is a range gun. The Holosun is very nice but it may be more than you want to spend.
I load those Bullets at 4.1 grains with the same OAL. I get about 1000 FPS on the chrono depending on my barrel. 4.1 is a good shooting round with less recoil than factory ammo.
I have been using a pro 1000 for years. I prime on the press with almost no problems. When the primer tray gets low add primers and no problems. It is not a Dillon 650 but I could have bought 4 or 5 of them for the Dillon price. The Lee pro 1000 was my very 1st press and have loaded 9mm, 40 and...
Anyone ever use brass jacket bullets? How do they compare to copper? I really love the RMR bullets but with a 3 or 4 month wait I am thinking about trying the Brass jacket stuff that RMR now has. I hate to have to work up a new load but what the heck, it will give me something to do. Is the...
Look in every case when placing the bullet!!! You will never have a squib again from lack of powder. I had problems with the safety mechanism on the Auto drum that is supposed to stop it from causing a double charge. It would not reset and would not drop powder. I took that off and never...
Buy the RMR bullets. I used to load extreme and Berry's but the RMR are about the same price and are MUCH better! I just hope RMR can keep the price the same. I will never go back to plated....
I love the RMR round nose FMJ. They shoot great but I have never tried the FP. For the price I can't see any reason to load Berry or Extreme plated any more and the RMR are more accurate for me.
Bass Pro is worthless if you need anything other than fishing gear and they have destroyed Cabelas. If you look at a gun at Cabelas now you can't see how the trigger feels and check the reset because Bass Pro forced them to put a trigger lock on all guns and they will not take it off so you can...
I have been using the RMR 125 RN with Win231/HP 38. With that bullet I use 1.135 for a COL and 4.1gns of powder work good for me. I have tested to 4.4 with no pressure signs but the recoil and power factor was more than I wanted for a target load. There is another post on here that shows my...
Finally went back out and shot these again. I ran them through my 5.2" Canik TP9SFX and my Sig P228 to compare speed with a shorter barrel. Below are the results.
Canik TP9
9mm 4.3gn HP 38 RMR Rn
Notes 1: 4.3 gn HP 38. 124gn RMR RN FMJ
Notes 2: temp. 69 deg
Distance to Chrono (FT): 10
Ballistic...
It was 4.3gn. When I load I use a RCBS 505 and a digital and both showed the same weight and I check every 10th round. I have shot several hundred of these and they shoot good with no pressure signs but I had expected the speed to be around 1050. I shot several groups and all showed the same...
I shoot rmr 124gn RN FMJ with 4.3 guns HP38 with COL of 1.13. I ran some through the chronograph yesterday and was surprised to see about 1180 fps from my 5.2" barrel with a PF of around 140-145. Hodgson says start at 4.4 gn with about 1000 fps and that 4.8gn gives about 1080 fps with a 4"...
Thanks for the info. I made up 5 ea from 4.1 to 4.4 with a col of 1.135 to try. I was shooting 124gn plated at 4gns and they were fine in my P228 and 4.5" Xdm but would not eject on my new Canik Tp9sfx because of the stiff spring.
I am using a col of 1.13. The Hodgdon starting load for 124 fmj was what the LYMAN showed as a max load. It was a sierra 125gn from the Hodgdon data because other than a 1gn difference it is the same bullet profile as the RMR bullets.
I just bought these to try. Have been loading for 6 years and have loaded lead 124gn and Berry plated at 4gn of HP38. These are .355 where the lead and plated are .356. Where to start is the question? The Berrys that I have been shooting is a light load with a power Factor of about 115.
