Lee has the Ergo primer which is what I have and I havent had a single problem with it. Got the new snap tray for free from Lee. I would buy it again. Its cheaper than the RCBS and I bought the shell holder kit for it.
I got the one with the micrometer for $130. Its not the sinclair micrometer just the stainless one with the markings and it works. Made a base from a scrap piece of aluminum C-channel and screwed it to my bench. I love it. They all come out the same length.
There is a rubber O-ring that keeps it from spinning. It is tapered and I think the O-ring is at the base if Im not mistaken. The case wont spin. Just the cutter.
I got it for my 270wsm and didnt like the inconsistency. The adjustment didnt seem to make much of a difference and I found it cut one side of the case lower than the other. I used the hand held trimmer instead until I got a LE Wilson trimmer. I cant say I used enough to really give a great...
I have had excellent service from Lee. Used customer service numerous times all my fault. Nothing was wrong with the tools just my actions. They soled all my problems free of charge. I emailed them recently about the new primer trays on the Ergo hand primer. In 2 days I had the new ones at my...
I bought the Lee Ergo Primer last year with the square trays. I saw they came out with the new primer trays so I emailed Lee about them.
They said to send them a receipt showing the ergo primer was less than 2 years old.I emailed them a copy from amazon and later that day they replied back...
If you use Tempilaq you can. If the BTUs change then using a flame on any annealer is a waste of time. If the 750 degree Tempilaq melts at 6.2 seconds according to your stopwatch then you set your wheels at 6.1 or 6.2 seconds and all your cases should be annealed the same. By looking at a glow...
750 degrees Tempilaq in the case the case mouth and 450 degree on the case body. Use a stop watch to time the melting of the 750. Then adjust the speed of the wheel to drop the case at the time you recorded. It will save you from you experimenting with brass.
I dont have one and never annealed...
Load some more at the 55.5gr and start backing off the seating depth in .01 or .005 increments to see if it tightens the groups up. Its that or possibly one of the components the gun doesnt like? Im new to reloading but I would try playing with the seating depth before changing components...
The only split pin I have in my Lee CC is the one in the top of the ram for the primer arm. The tube doesnt come off unless you pull on it due to the bottom of the ram shaft being a bit bigger than the tube opening. Having the ability to change from left to right handed and adjusting the lever...
Its not. He explains that in maybe another article? Anyway you should find a node or 2 your gun likes in the upper 50% of the charges. You could possibly get a more accurate charge in the lower 50%. My calculations come to around 50/50 or 60/40 of the charges and not 80/20 but Im guessing it...
You are looking for the center of the group to be the same across different grains of powder.
Group 1= 41.8gr The center of the group is right next to the bulls eye. 1/2" up and 1/2" left
Group 2= 42.1gr. Look at the center of the group. 1" left and 1"high.
Group 3= 42.4gr. 1" left and 1/2"...
You could buy 3-4 Lee PPM for the price of a Uniflow Jim. Mine throws IMR 4350 spot on everytime once I set it to correctly throw the charge I want. Its cheap and works as good as any powder measure on the market.
I read up on every powder measure before I even considered buying one and for...
