Do you like or don't like grooved triggers?

Well, two schools of thought for sure. Since my finger slides on the trigger as I pull it and slides back during release a grooved trigger gives me a hell of a blister after a lot of rounds. Some teach the sliding finger technique to stop trigger pull from pulling the gun left (Grant Cunningham)...

    New SP101

Grips are surely a personal thing. The stock grips fit my hand size very well and even with the full house stuff don't bang my middle finger and I too hate how the Hogue's lower your grip but, I can see how they would be a big help to some with larger hands or thicker fingers. My little finger...

    Taurus / Rossie.

I bought a Rossi M88 in 1994 and carried it for 16 years and still do from time to time. It has had thousands of rounds through it including a lot of +P. I would put it up against any stainless j frame I have owned. I don't know if I got lucky or if that was a good run of revolvers. Today I...

Concealed carry grips for my Taurus 85?

EBAY has quite an assortment including the wood ones from Thailand. I have a pair of smooth wood ones coming for my SP101 for the very same reasons that you're looking to change yours.

    A 5" SP101? Did you mean GP100?

    Ruger's and Smiths...

If you want a safe queen buy the Smith. If you want a shooter buy the Ruger. Look in the reloading manuals if you think Smith is built as strong as Ruger. I am biased as the only two firearms I ever had to return for warped barrels were Smiths. Once the Clinton lock showed up I was done with...

    bullet weight preference for .38/.357

I prefer 125's in my 3" carry gun and 180 hardcast for woods carry around here (GP100). I consider that a minimum Grizzly round for the lower 48 variety. The only thing with the lighter bullets with a fixed sight gun is I had to file down the front sight to hit POA since they shoot so low.

"Judge" owners I need your thoughts..

Gimmick gun that is poor with both rounds fired from it. Buy a real handgun or a real shotgun but, don't settle for a gimmick firearm. Shot shells in a 357 or a 44 pattern much better for snakes and such and you still have a real handgun for other work.

Why Do People Say South Carolina is Gun Friendly?

If you want to stay west Idaho, Montana and especially Wyoming are all very good 2A States as is South Dakota, Arizona, etc...

Switch to Larger Caliber with Mag Ban?

No, would not affect me in any way except I would be against it from a 2A perspective. I don't own any handguns that hold even ten rounds. Mostly carry 5 shot .38 or 6 shot .357. My zombie gun is an 8 shot .45 acp. I feel totally covered as far as handguns. I am one of those that carries...

Charter Arms Spurless Hammer (DAO) Install

Thanks, good to know. Nice that they sell conversion parts too.:) PS How do you like the 44 special for CC?

    TAURUS got me. Broken gun.

I bought a Rossi stainless steel snubby back in 1994. I have fired 1,000's of rounds through it and carried it for almost 16 years. I swear even the gunsmiths are amazed how it has held up. Would I buy another one today? No, because I think for whatever reason I got a decent gun back then but...

Charter Arms Spurless Hammer (DAO) Install

So these are in effect DA/SA guns still with a spurless hammer? I mean to say you could stage the trigger and pull the hammer back and it would lock back for SA correct? The SA sear is still there I assume.

not 100% satisfied with grip yet

I can't speak for everyone but, I was taught to shoot DA revolvers with the crease in your trigger finger also known as the "power crease" because you have much more strength that way and it makes a 12 to 14 pound trigger easier to shoot rapidly and accurately. That should also indicate if your...

Handgun you trust your life with?

Most everyday for the last 16 or so years its a Rossi M88 38 special except for woods work, backpacking, fishing and such than its a GP100. A few experimental everyday carry changes over the years but, I always go back to the snub so I am leaving what works alone.

not 100% satisfied with grip yet

I agree that this is not the time to try out a Dremel tool unless you don't mind the possibility of destroying the grip. My Hogue was only about 20 bucks so I took the chance as it was not usable to me from the factory anyway. Still surprised by all the terrible rubber stocks that come on...

Can the average shooter tell the difference between a high price relover and cheaper

21 years and thousands of rounds, still tight as ever. My everyday Rossi M88. Maybe I got lucky but a new Smith snub has a much worse trigger than this snub ever did. I have no idea what Rossi's are like now though. I prefer Ruger on my big bore flavors over S&W.

not 100% satisfied with grip yet

I bought a GP100 with the super ugly Hogue grips with the finger grooves. I was able to remove the finger grooves and palm swells with a Dremel tool using a stone grinding wheel (fairly fine one) and it worked quite well if you go slow and do not let the rubber melt from too high a speed on the...

    Bought a Rossi 357 SS 6"

I have only owned one Rossi and I bought that 21 years ago when they supposedly had quality issues. It has been my CC gun for the last 15 years and I have no idea how many rounds(including +P) that have been run through that gun. I would put it up against any mass produced revolver as far as...

If you could only keep one gun

Truly, the only gun capable of killing anything on this continent whether for food or defense is a 12 gauge shotgun. From Quail to Grizzly there is no other choice that does as much by simply changing ammo. My pick is a Remington 870 pump for simplicity and reliability. I am assuming that my...
