+1 for Howard Leight. I prefer them to my Peltors.

    I Feel So Alive! {M1911 Detail strip}

How about detail stripping a Ruger MKII/III? Not something I'd want to try without tools. But man do you feel like you've accomplished something once it's all back together and it still works!

    A Good Folder Knife

I've rotated between a Benchmade Griptillian and a Spyderco Endura Wave 4 for the past 3 years. This Christmas I got a Kershaw OD-2 1770 http://www.kershawknives.com/searchresults.php?brand=kershaw&search_by=searchform&search_value=1770&x=0&y=0 and I absolutely love it. The blade is 2.25...

cheap, lightweight, easy to build practice target stands

You can't call his bet and then raise him...gotta do one or the other. :) I'm gonna be taking you guys up on these stands. Good simple ideas! Thanks,

7.62 X 39 hollow point or soft tip??

As far as hunting goes, most people would recommend using soft tip - I also agree with this notion. The hollow point 7.62x39 round just doesn't expand fast enough to be all that beneficial. Regards,

    Daily carry knife

I found that out the hard way as well. You'll get used to it, and come to love it. Enjoy!

    Daily carry knife

I've got that same knife Jason. My father gave me mine for Christmas last year. It's been great so far, done everything I've asked of it. How's it treating you?

What Cal. is this air gun?

That looks to be the same air rifle I have. Mine is a .177, but as others have pointed out...just test it out. Try and .177 pellet, and if the shoe fits...you know. Good luck.

SIG 229 - need some input on how good of deal this is

My 229 shoots WWB .40 like a dream. WWB is my favorite target ammo; haven't had a single FTE/FTF. Sounds like you have some phone calls to make to Sig Chris. Hope everything goes well.
  10. Q

    what do you carry

I alternate between my Spyderco Endura and my Benchmade Griptillian. I also carry the SK2 when I'm at work...won't use the good blades for cutting the nasty stuff.

    10/22: Target model, or upgrade?

I'm a 100% with Avenger29 on this one. Build it yourself. You'll be much more pleased with the results, plus you'll have the joy of knowing you "designed" your own rifle.

    My recent Rest Stop scenario:

I agree that standing outside her door would have been a very good idea. Sadly enough, I was in a bit of a "bind." I was suffering from a pretty bad stomach ache and for the lack of a better phrase was about to explode. Couldn't have been a worse time to need to use the restroom that...

    My recent Rest Stop scenario:

This past weekend my wife, brother-in-law, his girlfriend, his son and I were on our way back from Irvine, KY. At around midnight we stopped at a rest stop in northern Kentucky to use the restroom. My wife and I were the only ones that got out of the car. I locked my brother-in-law (Jeremy)...

    Beginner to sharpening! Need help...

The Sharpmaker is a great sharpener, but keep in mind its forte is keeping a sharp edge or modifying your microbevel. It's not the best tool for the job if you need to reprofile your blade. I'd recommend an EdgePro sharpening system for all your needs...but that is a bit more expensive...

    Gerber Applegate-Fairbain Folder

I have the mini covert as well and carry it in my pocket everywhere I go. It's an inexpensive knife that holds up very well to a good beating. The edge retention isn't the greatest but if you don't mind sharpening, which I don't, then it's a wonderful knife. I suggest getting your hands on...

    Ashton Kutcher?

I'm with Father Knows Best on this one. I was about to say the exact same thing, but you beat me to it. I'd venture to say that studying Biochemical Engineering would put a person at a "mental capacity" rating much higher than most. I doubt he's got a problem figuring out how to safely use...

    Best bug-in house ever

I agree that their extravagant purchases would have made something seem fishy, but I wonder what the electric bill looked like! Of course they could have a crap load of generators up and running for power, although I didn't see many ventilation shafts (but I guess that doesn't mean there aren't...
