    The 336 Club

DANG!! SniperX!! I think just 4 boxes of .444 goes for nearly that much.:neener: I gave $440 for my 336M yesterday and feel it was a fair price. $450 for that guide gun was flat out immoral. Looks like we are about on the same wavelength Nematocyst-870. My next gun looks to be a 45-70...

    The 336 Club

Just picked up a beautiful little 336M today and will have some photos and a range report up tomorrow. I've been vacillating between a 336 and one of the Saigas for weeks now. When I walked into the gun store today, the clerk just smiled knowingly and walked into the back. He returned...

    The 336 Club

Nematocyst-870, I found this on the XS Sight Systems web site (faq #10): See it that helps and don't be afraid to give'em a ring.

    The 336 Club

Add me to the club please. I'm shopping for a 336, my first, this weekend and would love to join. This thread has been a BIG help for me and could not have come at a better time. Thanks all! I'm on my way.

Shooting wax bullets from Marlin 1894C

You may have trouble feeding them. As wax bullets are just empties with the wax flush, try feeding one of your empty brass through the gun. I can't say for sure if the wax will pull loose. I've only fired wax in my revolver, but I don't think it would be an issue if you 1894c will feed them.

    Taurus 1911

Jeff Quinn over at gunblast.com reviews a production Tarus 1911. I don't care much for the forward 'groves' but I do like the laundry list of features for such a low price. JRLaws

    after some serious consideration...

Hi, I've been considering a P-01 myself. I can't find one local to look at and was wondering how lefty friendly it is. I can pick one up here for less than a BHP from CDNN and think it may be my next gun, if I can work it with my left hand. Thanks, JRLaws

9mm: Underrated underdog or merely underpowered reject?

There is a very helpful thread (for people like me) over at http://www.tacticalforums.com/cgi-bin/tacticalubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=78;t=000581;p=1 Check out these 2 photos from that thread: Please do read the thread as it will explain the pictures much better than I...

454 Casull used in self defence shooting

Although I take this "report" with a grain of salt I have no doubts of the .454's ability. My normal go-to for terminal balistics is DocGKR over at Tactical Forums. I did a quick search and couldn't find any .454 photos. I did find his cousin the 45-70 though. So if you just adjust it a...

    .45lc Gp-100??

For me, it was not worth it. To convert the GP-100, the gun would basicly have to be rebuilt. New cylinder, barrel and fitting. Then there's the question of how well the frame would hold up to the bigger loads. I have not priced the custom work for the GP, but for the single actions it...

    What the heck Colt?

Hi guys, While I was tracking down a US Firearms dealer here in Kentucky I found something. I know it's not perl and I know it's not 7 1/2" nickel, but look at items number 7 and 8 on this page!!!! Sorry, not exactly what you wanted ziadel. But they cheaper than some models out there...

Beretta PX4 Storm pistol, 9mm...any opinion?

I hate to do this... I was thinking about one of these for my Christmas present to me but... Bud's guns here in Kentucky has them for $446.91 http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_52/products_id/18155?osCsid=1007ea8c4b55e107de83db2ab8779004 Well, there goes my...

    .45lc Gp-100??

I belive that the Ruger Alaskan in .45lc/.454 is what we are going to get. I love my GP-100 and have wanted one in .45acp for a long time. I'd guess that the Alaskan is as close as we'll get, in a Ruger production, my friend. But hey, same grip and trigger, so it's not all that bad. JRLaws.

    Observed today at Social Security

I knew two guys who worked security when I lived in Vegas. One had a 686 and the other a GP-100. The guard who had to provide his own gun was the GP-100, not sure about the Smith. JRLaws

    Taurus 12" .44 magnum?

Has anybody shot/owned one of these revolvers? My father saw it in the CDNN catalog today and wants one now. I'm thinking it'll make a nice after-Christmas present but I'm unsure about the gun. How is it? Quality, durable, accurate or just a gimmick? $349.99 is low, but what would I be...

    Self Defense

I've found http://www.packing.org/ very helpful. They will have links to your state and the actual laws for that state. This thread has some very good advice. I'll also stress that you should talk to a lawyer. Do it now, before you need one. The laws vary wildly depending on where you are...

New M37 - Is small amount of cylinder play ok?

That's exactly like my S&W. My Ruger has a constant amount of play regardless of hammer or trigger. Locking up tighter as the hammer is falling is a good thing. Movement of the cylinder at this time will affect accuracy the most. This Ruger is less accurate than this S&W (I'm not saying...

How Hot Can You Push .45ACP/Autorim Out of a Revolver?

The guys over at Clark Custom Guns do a .460 Rowland Conversion for the S&W 25/625 and Ruger Blackhawk in .45 acp. http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/revserv.htm The 460 does 1350 fps with a 230 grain bullet and 1550 fps with a 185 grain jhp! http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/rowland.htm It's...

New M37 - Is small amount of cylinder play ok?

Frank1991, Both my Ruger and S&W have a tiny amount of side-side movement when in lockup. Both guns were used when I bought them so I was a little worried myself. Grab four or five types of quality ammo and shoot for groups with you gun. I think you'll see just how o.k. it is, like I did:D...
