    Keep the powder dry

Build or buy a smokeless powder approved container and pick up a couple of Eva-dry E-333 Renewable Mini Dehumidifier from Amazon. They also come in 500 cu. ft. and larger. Works for me in my basement. I also use the larger electric dehumidifiers to keep the bad things humidity does in the...

Riser Needed for 10/22 and Bushnell TRS-25?

No, you don't need a riser to use that sight. If you previously used the iron sights you'll lose your normal cheek weld if you use a riser, which in fact the TRS-25 will sit higher anyway. I got a TRS-25 on my old 10/22 with the UTG rail. Nice setup.

Ruger AR556 vs. Colt M4 vs. Smith & Wesson MP-15

Can you cite the source for that statement in a non-military, non-ammo dump rapid fire environment? Something left out of this whole thread is we don't know the OP's intended use. If it's just going to be a slow fire plinker, the cheapest name brand will suit. If it's going to be fired until...

Ruger AR-556, Strikefire 2 Review; What a Great First Date

Thanks ms6852. I'm an okay shooter but the rifle and optics seem to be doing their part. I'll follow up on this post next time I hit the range but I think it was blind, stupid luck on my part I got such a great group.

What's the Way Ahead for the Gun Industry?

You ask an interesting question but what exactly is the "Gun Industry"? Is it just the designers, marketers, and manufacturers of guns and ammo? Perhaps we can include the retailers too since they're an intricate part of the industry which control, out the door, prices. A lot of folks are...

Ruger AR-556, Strikefire 2 Review; What a Great First Date

Had a range session the other day with my first AR-15 ever. Being too old to actually see or use iron sights I also picked up a Vortex Strikefire 2 red/green dot sight. I cleaned and lubed the rifle when I got home and off to the range a few days later. I did try to bore sight the rifle at home...

    SGammo.com--anybody used them?

SGammo is an outstanding retailer and I wouldn't hesitate to use them as I've done many times in the past. In fact I got an order coming in today.

    What Pistol do you carry.

What make is that holster for the LC9s? I really like the small size.

    Reloading .357 mag

Good luck finding 2400 and if you do, stock up as much as you can afford. My preferences run to ball powder and I've used AA#7, AA#9, and Ramshot Enforcer with good results. They're all pretty clean burning and only need SPP. I also prefer 158 gr bullets and one of my favorites for lighter...

    Reloading .357 mag

Welcome to The High Road Ubermeier. Probably best to describe what kind of loads you're looking to build. Full power magnum, light powder puff load, or something in between?

    Dry Firing At The Range

Nope, never. I practice how I'm going to actually use a weapon for self defense. Like if someone is breaking into my home; my adrenalin is surging, my heart rate is sky high, and I'm nervous as hell. Now ya can't exactly simulate that at the range but some nervousness may help you to see what...

    Just bought a Ruger 9e

As opposed to the 17 rounder that they come with? One thing that bugs me is the price of Ruger magazines for all their guns. I stock up on mags when I see them for a good price on the 2-pack. Makes me sick when I see AR 30rd. Magpul or Glock mags for a fraction of the price.

    Just bought a Ruger 9e

Got my 9E last year, same price, same store. IMO, one of the best shooters out there. My one wish is Ruger would have made a 9E compact. Like mavracer said the Novak cut, which also moves the rear sight all the way to the end of the slide unlike the SR9, to me, makes it a better buy.

    New Wiley Clapp GP100

Where did you purchase it. I've been looking for one but it seems there were a limited run of both the stainless and black versions. Very nice revolver.

Who are your favorite Youtube gun reviewers?

Hmm, not one mention of mixup98. He's not as voluminous at posting vids as some of the more popular youtuber, but he's short and to the point, both good and bad of whatever he reviews. Got into watching Mrgunsandgear recently when searching for red dot scopes. A lot of good reviews but...

Range Report: 9mm 147 Gr. RMR Hardcore Match Round Nose Plated AA#7

Had a SNAFU with Dropbox. They were there when I previewed and posted. I used Dropbox to save THR some server space and to get all the pics in one post. Guess that's not going to work out. The link at the bottom of the first post should work now.
