    Wasp Spray for Self Defense?

My exposure was less than what one would be exposed to applying a mosquito repellent which uses pyrethroids, or pyrethrins (many do), and deet causes them to be more readily absorbed. This is part of the reason why this myth is so stupid. People actually regularly apply these chemicals to...

    Wasp Spray for Self Defense?

Hi All, I have a bunch of friends who have bought into this idea. One pointed out that even several self defense instructors were recommending this. I saw where a 22 yr NYPD veteran also recommended it. We put it to the test. Check it out. Time to put this myth to bed...

9x18 tested - 115 Hard Cast vs 95 JHP Underwood AND Buffalo Bore

Never owned a CZ-83, but assume it is similar to the 82. I have no problem with the trigger on the CZ-82. It is fine in both DA and SA. I know my PA-63 has an atrocious DA trigger, and a barely passable SA trigger. I have heard P-64 triggers are rough too.

9x18 tested - 115 Hard Cast vs 95 JHP Underwood AND Buffalo Bore

I am as accurate, if not more accurate, with my CZ-82 as with my full sized Beretta PX-4 Storm (which I also love). I wish the CZ-82 had a de-cocker, but other than that, it is one of my favorite guns to shoot, and I do carry it sometimes.

9x18 tested - 115 Hard Cast vs 95 JHP Underwood AND Buffalo Bore

It's the best I've seen, and we've tested Hornady XTP Hornady FTX BBore JHP Underwood JHP PPU JHP The Underwood 9x18 JHP performed very similar to the Federal 115 gr JHP fired from our 9mm Beretta. Next tests will be fired through either dry-wall or sheet metal.

9x18 tested - 115 Hard Cast vs 95 JHP Underwood AND Buffalo Bore

The more I shoot them, the more I like them.

9x18 tested - 115 Hard Cast vs 95 JHP Underwood AND Buffalo Bore

Well, when we posted our last 9x18 ammo test, you asked to see 115 gr Hard Cast, and the UNDERWOOD 95 gr JHP. I don't want to ruin the video, but will just say that the UNDERWOOD JHP is a sweet little round! Enjoy.... if you're into Maks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1izBXZejuqA .

Tomorrow last day before NRA pricing goes up

Hi all, Just a reminder, if you are looking at joining NRA, or renewing your membership, annual membership dues and multi-year memberships are all supposed to increase after tomorrow. Given that 3 of the 4 front-runners for the presidency have either very poor, or questionable ratings on...

    9x18 for Self Defense Revisited

I wish it was still imported. Every 9x18 pistol I own LOVES Brown Bear, Norinco and Silver Bear.

    9x18 for Self Defense Revisited

It IS hot. Our gelatin blocks back to back are over 25" deep, and a FMJ round from com-block rounds will go through the whole thing.

Abraham Lincoln Reviews the Beretta PX4 Storm

We'll see. I actually had to grow the beard for a Abe Lincoln role, and have already shot a few other vids, just for fun, but will probably lose the beard once I'm done, and move on.

Abraham Lincoln Reviews the Beretta PX4 Storm

I'll just put this here for those who are interested in a PX4, or in Abe Lincoln, or bored. My son and I had some fun this weekend. Honest Abe Reviews - Beretta PX4 .

    9x18 for Self Defense Revisited

I might give it a shot, but at $1.40/rnd for the 95 gr, and its poor performance, I'm not sure I want to spring for it. Of all the ammo I tested, I had the highest hopes for the Buffalo Bore, and was the most disappointed with it. It was totally outperformed by even the PPU JHP, which is less...

    9x18 for Self Defense Revisited

When I posted the video comparing the 9x18 Hornady FTX against a 9-Luger JHP and a .38 Special JHP, many of you asked me to test more 9x18 rounds (as well as other .38 SPCL rounds - that test is coming). You asked, I tested - ACCURACY, PENETRATION & WOUND CAVITY. Buffalo Bore 95 gr +P JHP...

9x18 Mak vs 9 Luger or 38 Spcl for winter carry - Ballistics gel tests

I'll have to try the PPU. Both my CZ-82 and the FEG PA-63 will eat the Hornady Critical defense all day long. Interesting that the P-64 doesn't like it.

9x18 Mak vs 9 Luger or 38 Spcl for winter carry - Ballistics gel tests

Comparing the wound channel of the 9x18 Hornady bullet, and the .38 Hornady bullet, I would take the 9x18. It didn't go as deep, but it expanded much better, and did much more damage. In fact, I kind of wish I hadn't edited out where I cut out the 9x19 channel, when you compare it with the...

9x18 Mak vs 9 Luger or 38 Spcl for winter carry - Ballistics gel tests

His results were much better than mine. Not sure why. The .38 used was a S&W snubbie. Very similar to his revolver. We fired a second round after the first completely failed to expand, and there was some improvement with the second bullet, but it still was not impressive. I will try it...

9x18 Mak vs 9 Luger or 38 Spcl for winter carry - Ballistics gel tests

I have used that exact round in my .38 snubby for a self defense/CC round... not anymore.

9x18 Mak vs 9 Luger or 38 Spcl for winter carry - Ballistics gel tests

My FEG PA-63 is one of my more common CC guns, so I was curious to see how the 9x18 performed. I was very pleased. In this test, it was shot from a CZ-82.
