    Newbie wanting some sage wisdom!

That’s awesome. I think there is a much deeper appreciation for a firearm and the art doing it the way you do. The palm saver rod is a metal rod with a rubber pad to help make loading easier on your hand I suppose. It seems cleaning an in-line, especially the swabbing, is very easy so I’ll get...

    Newbie wanting some sage wisdom!

Well that’s not all bad to hear. I live in Idaho mostly, but hunt in Colorado also. The powerbelts are not legal in Idaho as I understand the law. I only have them because CVA has a killer starter kit that happened to have those 295 power belts in it.

It’s a 24 inch barrel, and the ramrod is the stock palm saver that came with the rifle. It is an in-line also. Is there a good way to feel when my bullet is seated properly? Also are there any recommendations on how to get rid of the nasty residue that forms at the muzzle? Sorry last question...

Good advice so far, that helps a ton. I “read” the manual, but I guess should spend more time on it. It seemed very generic so I gave up, but it sounds like I should take another crack at it.

    Newbie wanting some sage wisdom!

Hello everyone! I recently got bit buy the muzzleloader bug, and got a CVA wolf. I was curious especially on powder charges, and how much is safe for a 295 grain powerbelt in a .50 cal. I’m using 777 FFFP, and unfortunately I’m in Idaho, so musket caps to be NW compliant. What are some safe...

    Uppers And BCG’s

I didn’t feel it was hijacked at all haha. I was enjoying the new information too and hoped it would continue to be honest. I appreciate the negative and honest review you had with the .223 Wylde. Got me looking at PSA more than I was and that seems to be a more favorable decision the more...

    6.5 CM ?

I bought the Savage 12FV at cabelas last Black Friday. It goes on for about 230 after a rebate. I love the gun, but good luck hunting with it, way too heavy. I love taking it out to the range, and it’s not bad to coyote hunt with shooting sticks

This thread has turned into an awesome read for me, and given me lots to consider. Hopefully it keeps going haha.

    Uppers And BCG’s

I’m honestly looking to build a cheap fun to shoot rifle. Picked up a lower for 20 bucks and figured I was a commie if I didn’t build something at that price

    Uppers And BCG’s

I have just seen that some of those finishes can help with life of the BCG, but I guess really I’m more of a bolt action guy anyway, so I probably won’t shoot it enough to need an upgraded BCG.

    Uppers And BCG’s

I’m new to the AR building world, and am finishing a build soon. My hang ups are I don’t know which upper to go with, as well as bolt carrier group, or even how much it matters. I’m as of right now thinking I’ll do a bear creek arsenal upper in .223 Wylde with a Nitrid3 Syst3ms bolt carrier...

    Boyd's AR Furniture

As of now I'm not sure if I'll need a cap, I'm planning it out now. Trying to decide on an upper, but have built my lower except for the buttstock. That's what led me down the furniture and in turn cap rabbit hole.

    Boyd's AR Furniture

Interesting. Is there a reason that mid length prefers triangular caps? Or is that just a simplicity thing among manufacturers?

    Boyd's AR Furniture

Hey everybody! I'm building my first AR, and so far it's going smooth and I'm loving it. After seeing Boyd's furniture and how beautiful it looks on an AR, I fell in love. I was curious if anyone had experience with them on AR's, I love their bolt action stocks. I was also curious on what they...

    Powder's effect on accuracy

You are right, it is a 1:10. The original barrel. I have only used BLC-2, CFE 223, and Varget. I haven't thought about shooting in different conditions either, kind of a no duh I guess

    Powder's effect on accuracy

Coincidentally enough, my groups are about 1.5 with any load and with the 2 CFE 223 loads I've developed they are around .5-.75. Thanks for the info guys! Also my twist rate is 1:8 and I have tried different weights. Heavier generally does better

    Powder's effect on accuracy

I have a really odd issue that I have found. I have a Remington 700 VTR in a .308. I have had accuracy troubles in any load, hand or factory, that is not using CFE .223 is there any reason for this? Can a rifle prefer a specific powder? Or is this all coincidence? All opinions welcome, thanks...

    CFE 223 on a .308 Winchester

Perfect. I've been shooting a 700 VTR with a 1-10 twist also. That could be important info

    CFE 223 on a .308 Winchester

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone had used this yet on a .308 I bought it being impressed with it on a 208 gr ELD-match. However, there is just more recoil than is enjoyable for a rifle I may shoot dozens of rounds through in one trip. I was just curious if anyone has found other loads they...
