I've got one up for sale in the handguns section. They're fun guns. Torquey with full house factory ammo!

What does it cost to ship a handgun?

Some of you may find this letter useful. Basically, you are not legally required to notify the private carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) what you are shipping...just as you are not required to ship overnight. Both policies are just that - internal policies.

    Rifle Identification

Thanks RC! You're right about the scope mount covering the top of the receiver. Checked the bolt and the numbers are different, so maybe it was imported and I just can't find the markings. Barrel is nicely floated and bore is flawless...thank god because no one's run a patch down it for at...

    Rifle Identification

My grandpa passed a year ago and I finally had some time to drive out to my Mom's place...she was saving some of his tools for me. He was a machine shop supervisor at Coors his entire career, and she saved his toolmaker lathe from his basement for me! While I was down there she asked if I...

Second Amendment Rally - downtown CHICAGO

Shockingly neutral. I think even the drive by's are starting to see that the tide has turned against them.

Have you ever used your gun for SD and how many bullets did you use?

Covered my weapon twice after verbal warnings and that was enough to make sketchy people reconsider. Never had to draw. Hope it stays that way.

    Security in rented apartment

Anytime...I just reinforced both doors in my place as well, so the research is fresh in my mind. Amazing how standard construction only puts 3/4" of trim and 1" screws between your deadbolt and a swift kick open. I put in 1/8" thick steel strikeplates, then 5 foot long strips of 14 gauge steel...

    Security in rented apartment

A good lock is worth nothing without a good strikeplate. They sell replacement ones with a full sheath for the bolt and 4" screws which will reach all the way to the king stud. Some are even the same size as the crappy normal strikeplates so you don't have to mortise anything. Also replace...

Concealed carry and the anti-gun wife

HAH! My Ex was very anti gun when I met her. Also very much her own woman, successful exec, etc. When we got married, she knew I had a gun safe and I knew she had two Tivos; everything was on the table. The marriage didn't last more then 20 months (oil and water; we're still friends)...

    NC fixed blades

"Spring loaded knifes are flat out illegal." ??? You're talking about ballistic knives which shoot the blade out, right? It's my understanding that regular switchblade folding knives are legal so long as they are not concealed.

Ahh, even more helpful. I know about and have used the verification link, but for some reason I always thought I needed to retain a copy. Thanks for informing me!

    Quick FFL question

I haven't sold a gun in a while and I can't remember. If I am shipping a pistol to an FFL I know I need to retain a signed copy of his license for my records. Will a faxed copy work or do I need one signed in ink? I searched but can't find the answer anywhere...
