I cut a piece of 1-inch PVC about 5 inches long to use as a handle over the loading lever. Much gentler on the hand, and gives more leverage.

I decided to try the Lee turret loader with 45LC dies. One more question - I used to deprime before washing and tumbling. Looks like it is the depriming die is also the resizing die. I don't think I want to try resizing before cleaning. Some videos I watched show the cleaning with primers...

Thanks Sam1911, but I mainly need something to fully resize 45LC brass, and according to reviews, it looks like these are not suitable for that. Any other suggestions anybody? Cost not necessarily an issue yet.

I knew the Lee hand loader only resized the neck area. I also will mention that I do deprime, wash, and tumble clean with walnut shells before any sizing or loading. It looks like I need to find something like the C press mentioned, or one the Lee presses. I do use calipers, bit will look...

On a related note, what is the opinion of capping a loaded cylinder before installing it on the gun?, i.e the hammer is in the half-cock position, 5 chambers are loaded, then the cylinder is spun to the empty cylinder before lowering the hammer.

I use a snail capper, and just shoot. For Cowboy shooting matches, I've started using cap-keepers I cut from IV tubing. I never had a cap jam or lost cap since starting that.

The base is cylindrical and it looks like it is press fit into the top of the barrel. I may try building it up with JB Weld first.

Apparently dropped my Pietta 58 Rem, because found the front sight bent over. When trying to straighten it just snapped off. It always shot high, but now a proper sight picture is 1.5 ft high at 15 yds. I use this for Cowboy shooting, so need to adjust for just 15-20yds. Unlike the Colts...
