How does an airplane fly?
The air flowing over the wings forms the "Bernoulli Effect". The Bernoulli Effect is a form of black magic, and requires everyone on board to believe in it, or the airplane will plummet to its destruction.
I was always partial to the S&W Night Guard series of revolvers. I remember people at the time making fun of their features on this board, but I liked them. I wish I had picked up a 396NG or 386NG when they first came out and the prices were reasonable. Now they're in the gold level of S&W...
I bought a Coonan Classic for $1250 new, about 11 years ago. On Gun Broker there are still some going for around that. The crazy prices tend to be for rarer ones, like the Model B's and Compacts. But the occasional Classic goes crazy too.
I wouldn't take that as a slur, but more of a hard-bitten truth. Some Washington people are waking up here with the surging crime, but probably not enough to change the voting patterns. I have my work here, and my grown children. Maybe grandkids some day (crossed fingers). I'm not moving...
I dunno. I've carried my Ruger 3.75" Bisley Super Blackhawk in a Simply Rugged pancake holster while motorcycling, and forgot it was there. It's not a small gun, but it snugs up against the body well. Shoots 300g hard cast like a dream. The Bisley grip makes a big difference in a fast recovery.
Adding a rail is fine for those so inclined.
The red revolver is one of the most hideous things I've seen. Pairing it with pearl grips is bizarre and doesn't seem to have a historical antecedent that I know. The only aesthetic reasoning I can come up with is that it might match someone's...
If you're going to shoot it, keep the extractor spring and pocket clean. If the plunger and spring seize, the extractor loses tension, and can remove itself into the weeds.
Don't waste money on a Smith & Wesson Model 17. Mine has a fine DA trigger. Almost as nice as its centerfire K-frame brethren.
(Wait, what kind of endorsement is that?)
Driftwood, I always like it when you bring the Merwin Hulbert out.
I was going to say something snarky, but that would have just been Green-Eyed Jealousy talking.
I have a birdshead grip on a 3.75" Ruger Single Seven. I find it hard to get a consistent grip when drawing. I feel like I'm having to adjust the position to get it "just right".
I like the plow handle grip on my 5.5" Single Seven better and that gun is a joy to shoot. I like that style up...
Sounds like the start of a comedy routine.
Costello: So this guy has a Glock 40 as a mailbox.
Abbott: You mean it's a 22?
Costello: No, that's a 44.
Abbott: Glock doesn't make a .44.
Costello: Abbott!
