Pistol Caliber Carbine Chamberings I'm Curious About

Why bring back the Camp Carbine when they have the PCC and it already comes in 40 Short and Weak? Longer cartridges would require a complete redesign of the PCC. I'd love to see a 45 ACP version, but according to the Ruger engineers I talked to a couple of years ago it's not even on the...

Opinion piece from Dr. John Lott in the Wall Street Journal

Eastern insurance is the most mentioned company. I believe it's $150 a year for $40k of coverage. It's been a few years since I signed up.

    New bottle of powder?

If shooting precision rifle and the new bottle of powder has a different lot number I'd most likely work up a new load. For pistol shooting.....load it and shoot it.

    Safety or no safety?

No problem. The idea that the 1911 was designed to be carried cocked and locked is one of those things EVERYONE knows, but is not true.

    Sizing 45 ACP brass

Measure 45 ACP brass? Hearsay! Of course loading it single stage is something I wouldn't do either. I typically run 400-800 rounds at a time of 45 ACP on my Dillon 650. My process is this. 1. Knock the dirt off the brass if needed. Run brass in vibratory tumbler till I remember to take...

    Decapping dirty brass

If the brass is really grungy I'll hose the dirt off, let it dry, then run it though my vibratory tumblers. After that it gets dumped into the case collator and loaded.

    Safety or no safety?

It's not a claim, it's a simple fact. Show me in period literature, 1911-1960, where it was designed/intended to be carried that way. Here's a hint John Moses Browning carried his personal 1911 with the hammer down on a live round. Also the thumb safety wasn't part of the original design.

    Safety or no safety?

The 1911 was NEVER intended to be carried cocked and locked.

A couple questions about a .300 AAC Blackout build

I'd look for a 10.5" upper. My first 300 Blk was a 7.5". Obnoxious little beast. I built a 10.5" and it's much more pleasant to shoot, more accurate, and just balances better.
