New to me Stevens 311a, looking for info

Stevens made these with slight changes for a lot of retailers. My 12 gauge is a Sears, the 20 is a Western Auto. I like to call them the workingman's double.

    Winchester Model 12

It's a shame for the quality, but about a grand to 1200. There is little collector interest in the Miroku built Model 12's, tho they are excellent guns.

    A Pair of Very Different Colt's 1903s

I too love the 03, not a fan of the Novaks tho, the 03 can def. use better sights, I don't think those big honkin Novaks are the answer tho. To me the 03 is mostly a belly gun tho they are capable of astounding accuracy. Real sweet shooter.

I know Remington's firearms are questionable but the ammo?

I've been exclusively reloading Remington hulls for years. I have yet to have a hull failure. The cheapo gun club hulls are good for 6-8 reloads with my 1 oz. loads @ about 1100. New-to-me Savage 99, first day at the range

Wait till you see your first Savage 99 multi barrel set! Also keep a sharp eye out for the takedown 99. The multi barrel sets are rare as hens teeth. The 99 was never an inexpensive rifle. There are 99's chambered in .410. usuallly seen as part of the aforementioned sets. My favorite lever action.

Has 16 gauge become popular again?

The 16 has been in decline since the 3" 20 gauge hit the market. It is not coming back, but will not go away. Too many good old guns chambered in 16. Been seriously thinking of adding a 16 Ga. model 12 to the herd. When I see the right one at the right price, I shall do so. Carries like a 20...

1 ounce 16 Gauge with Modified Choke......how bad at the trap range will I do??????

An ounce of shot is plenty, most regular trap shooters shoot one ounce or less, at least for practice. Basically you will be throwing the same amount of shot as most of the other shooters. I would go with your 7 1/2 shot tho. 6's can carry too far, and 6's are not a legal load for trap. 7 1/2 is...
