Avenging Angel snub nose revolver club

After I do a couple of these and make my Remington Bulldog, I want to get an old S&W Model 10 and make a Fitz Special too. One thing is been curious about is doing a Richards/Mason conversion on a steel frame into .45 Colt to make a backpacking pistol and hunting companion piece. I need to...

Dang it.... Wrong Powder for 1851 brasser.

So, basically we get to do it the way they did when these were modern; trial and hand fitting.

So, here is my pair of 1851 Colt Navies, the Marshal has the fluted cylinder, the Sheriff has the engraved cylinder; And here is the beginning of my Avenging Angel from a brass framed 51 Navy; I have some more work to finish truing the muzzle face and properly crown and profile the under lug...

    Suicide Special revolver club

Beautiful collection! I have always had a soft spot for these, often wondering why no one has made .22 reproductions of them or the percussion predecessors of them.

Dang it.... Wrong Powder for 1851 brasser.

I use 15 grains of 777 in my brass framed 51 and it's about the same as 20 grains of fffg, shouldn't have any problems with it. I would recommend some wonder wads or some other lubricating pad/wad with it to keep the fouling loose for ease of cleaning, it can be a real bugger otherwise.

Very nice! I haven't got the stockpile of spare parts to do things like this with but I am working on it, LOL! Actually pick up a "new" 1851 Colt Navy "Sheriff" in stainless on the first, so I can have a pair of the 5.5" barreled ones in stainless. Love the look of them with the "engraving"...

May be a silly question but is that a Griswold barrel with a London or Dragoon trigger guard? Makes a mighty fetching piece!

My basic CAS/SASS set up with my 1851 Colt Navy "Marshal" and "Sheriff", both in .44. I really love these little buggers and plan to get a pair of full size as well, but I will stick with the .44 to keep my ammo purchases simple.

Avenging Angel snub nose revolver club

Thanks, I have a inventory request with them in now! By dumb luck, I located a match to my 1851 Navy "Marshal" .44 at a pawn shop so I am looking at buying it before I get anything I need to make the AA simply because I need to stretch the money a bit since that was an unplanned purchase.

One question; where do you find the bird's head grips? I really like the ones I see on the Thunderers but have a Heritage Rough Rider with the bird's head and it's pretty comfortable too, I just want to find some for the Piettas I have so I can make them look the way I want.

Don't mean to dredge up an old post but I couldn't let something that handsome pass without comment; Nice work JohnnyCremains! Ever since getting bit with the CAS bug again I have been looking at making an Avenging Angel for my pocket pistol choice, or just because I think they are good looking...

Howdy all! I am new here but, have been shooting since I was 6 (back when dinosaurs ruled the earth, LOL!) thanks to a S.E. Alaskan upbringing and a father who hunted actively. Shot on my high school rifle team before joining the Army in 1990, got my CPL at 21 and have kept once since (23...
