    Re-boring a .300 WM to .358 Norma???

Is it possible to make a T/C Pro Hunter .300 WM barrel into a .358 Norma? I have one sitting around and have an opportunity to hunt in Alaska and would like a little more punch than a .300 WM can deliver. My Alaskan friend suggested I get a .375 H&H or Ruger, but I really don't want to buy a...

My Surefire muzzle break is just too darn loud...

Where were you guys when I was asking about Compensators before I purchased :( I was under the impression that spotting misses was almost impossible to do without some for of muzzle break... Probably took advice from someone who doesn't even shoot. I am going to check out just getting a thread...

My Surefire muzzle break is just too darn loud...

The ear ringing was from standing slightly to the side and behind, coaching a 14 year old girl how to shoot...i.e. breath control, trigger pressure etc. If I am driving, I don't seem have any problem when wearing muffs. I do have a Nikon Monarch 4-16 mounted, but when it is dialed up I can't...

The ear ringing was from standing slightly to the side and behind, coaching a 14 year old girl how to shoot...i.e. breath control, trigger pull, cheek weld etc. If I am driving, I don't seem have any problem when wearing muffs. I don't know if you can see the picture, but most of the gas comes...

My Surefire muzzle break is just too darn loud...

The original plan was to use for rodents, hence the heavy barrel. The break was to keep on target to spot misses. I don't think at this point anybody would spot for me in the same vicinity. Isn't M82 a .50 cal? I can imagine what that would be like. For comparison, I was too close to a M198...

My Surefire muzzle break is just too darn loud...

My first and only AR-15 is really loud for a .223, something I attribute to the Surefire muzzle break. It is unpleasant for anybody close to me at the range, and leaves me with ringing ears after a couple hundred rounds. Is there any down side to removing it an replacing with a birdcage flash...

    Progressive press for .223/5.56?

Sounds strangely erotic...oh, RIBBING, I thought you said rubbing.

AR bolt catch spring too strong

I got everything in the mail last night. Took me about 2 minutes to replace the spring. The old spring is way too long and the wire was of a heavier gauge than the replacement. Works like a charm now. This was a kit gun(I got from original owner), and the lower is from Adams Arms with a...

    Progressive press for .223/5.56?

I don't want to start a new thread, but I just got 2000 mixed weight SP bullets from RMR. They appear to be Speer Gold Dot LE .223... in 62-64 grain. I weighed a bunch last night and they are truly a mixed bag of 62-64 grains. I am not going to weigh and sort 2000 bullets. I am going to use...

    Progressive press for .223/5.56?

Thank you all for the replies...I didn't mean to start a flame war. The specialty shop owner in my area (Gunstop) is a Dillon guy, and stocks all of the parts. He does have a couple other presses on hand, but mostly blue stuff. I'll probably go with Dillon for that reason alone.

AR bolt catch spring too strong

I don't have the punch set yet, but that is the plan. I tried a little Kroil, thinking that may do the trick, but it seems that the spring is just really strong. It moves without a hint of binding. If it is still a problem, I'll replace the whole shooting match with an upgrade.

AR bolt catch spring too strong

The bolt catch will not engage on an empty magazine...I believe it is because the spring is way too stiff. It is difficult to make it engage with your finger even. I ordered a replacement spring/detent from Brownells, and a punch kit to get the roll pin out. Is there anything I need to watch...

    Progressive press for .223/5.56?

I'll watch a few of the attached YT videos...I don't know if I can trust a Lee press, I had one in the 80's and it was a POS. Just got a couple thousand bullets from Rocky Mountain Reloading, will be using 25 gr Varget for starters. FWIW: PPU brass ROCKS...I bought a thousand and have not...

    Progressive press for .223/5.56?

Thanks for all of the replies...I was busy at the first gun show of the year (Minnesota Weapons Collectors) this weekend. I purchased a Little Crow WFT in .223 so I will get busy trimming brass... Question: I usually use a Lee factory crimp die on everything, will a progressive press...

    Progressive press for .223/5.56?

I am a brand new member today! My first post, I have a question about reloading for the .223. I have been shooting an AR for a few weeks now, and I realize that unlike all of my other rifles, I won't be able to keep up with my RCBS Rockchucker. Simply too slow. Is there a progressive press that...
