    LEO Off duty carry

The way I've always seen it, is when I'm off duty I'm just that, OFF. I carry my back-up in my pocket and my badge just in case but no cuffs or crazy extras. In a profession like law enforcement if you try to stay on duty when your off it can drive you insane at worst and get you in hot water...

What qualities bother you most about businesses which sell firearms?

When the owner/employee seems annoyed when you want to see a gun off the rack or ask a price. That'll kill a sale for me pretty quick.

What firearm(s) have been in your family for the longest time?

I've got my grandfathers Stevens favorite that he purchased sometime in the early 20's and the same grandfathers .16ga that he carried with him in the orange groves. Both are a little rough from service in the Florida scrub but they still get shot every now and then.

    Sacrilege?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I'll just leave it alone and keep enjoying it the way it is. On a side note, the number on the barrel of this gun is below 200. I'm not sure how he numbered his guns when he went commercial, (which is what I understand this rifle is the product of) but...

    Sacrilege?

I've got a Tingle manufacturing plains rifle that would be a perfect candidate for refinishing. There's no pitting on the piece and it's more accurate than any black powder I've ever shot, she's just a little beat up from decades of use. I am considering re-finishing the stock and re-bluing the...

Not sure about the high standard, I'm pretty sure it's the same parts compatibility as uberti/navy arms. Mine were ubertis that were rough and fired pretty regularly and I still got 400 for the pair when I sold them.

Those are safety pins, used to rest the hammer between cylinders. Remingtons have notches between the nipples for the same purpose.

Sharp looking Griswold. I had a pair years ago that I regret selling, they were a blast to shoot.

    THR Caplock Rifle Club

A few of mine. The zouave at top has been sold, but the Bob Tingle .45 in the middle and the Thompson .50 at bottom are safely tucked away with the other smoke sticks. Picked all three up as a package for 200 bucks recently.

    The best #1 light/lazer for Glock 23?

I've got a Blackhawk night ops on my service weapon. It took me some time to get used to but once I did I can honestly say I trust my life with it. I've owned streamlight products before and never had an issue with them either.

Antonio Zoli Zouave Rifle .58 Caliber

I had one that I picked up in a trade with some other bp's, it was a fun rifle to shoot. Accuracy was decent at around 50yds but I never shot it beyond that, wound up selling it to a friend that does reenactments. I've got a clamp on globe front sight that will fit it if you wind up buying it.

    Replacing every long lost firearm.

Interesting to see the different responses. I've narrowed my list down to the ones that I really enjoyed owning and I'm still right at 45 different guns... even though I'm now out of debt and making good money it would be a long journey to replace all of them. Not to mention having to build more...

    Replacing every long lost firearm.

My lever guns are the ones I've missed most. whether I replace everything or just some of them, the Winchesters and Marlin lever actions are at the top of the list.

    Replacing every long lost firearm.

I wish I could say the same. most of my losses were by financial necessity rather than choice, but I'm even considering buying replacements for the random Saturday night specials and bargain bin shotguns alongside the high dollar pieces. Just sounds like alot of fun to track down replacements...

    Replacing every long lost firearm.

Hello all. So recently a friend of mine had to sell off some guns for financial reasons and offered to sell me a few back that he had bought from me, and since I had the cash and liked the idea of having them back I obliged. This put the crazy notion in my mind that maybe I could replace every...
