Pros / Cons of different barrel lengths SBR

I've run 7", 10.5" and now a 14.5". I've never had any issues running any of them, but admittedly, the 14.5 is a bit more civilized when shooting indoors or running classes. I ran my 7" at a pistol match and actually had people standing behind my filming my stages with iPhones...the flash is...

    AK magazine quick release

Pass. Tacticool stuff is fun to buy and fun to look at, but if it's a fighting rifle, then leave it as is. Spend money on training and ammo. If it's a toy, then farkle away. IMHO...

Recommendation for novice woman's first gun

Having read and participated in many, many of these threads, I've come to a couple of conclusions: 1) It's better if YOU don't do the training, let someone else do it (I am an instructor and I won't instruct my wife) 2) Let THEM pick what THEY want. Set some guideliness, but they need to...

AZ Gov: Brewer vetoes bill allowing guns on public property

I don't think it's neccesarily a "trend" issue. If there isn't overwhelming support from sources she cited, then from a political point of view, I think she made the right call. From a constitutionality point, then she's off base. IMHO, of course.

NFA weapons and living in Austin

IMO.... Just go trust. Our state laws make it VERY easy to form a trust. One doesn't even need to register it with the sec. of state. Just form it, notorize it...and you're off to the races. I built a trust last year and had no issues with getting through for my NFA toys.

The most accurate autos and cartridges.

Pick a cartridge, then select your weapon... Which gasoline is fastest? Shell, Exxon or 7-11? My choice is a new ZR-1 Corvette.

    My first HK

Beautiful pistol! I'm working on getting one right now. I've got my eye on one at a Gander Mountain as well. Yours looks MINT! Congrats! I have no idea why I'm so strongly drawn to them. But I am!

    Practical SBR

Please don't be offended...but it seems you haven't a clue as to what you want. You seem to argue with yourself over the topic. "Should I or shouldn't I?" You say it's not for duty work...then who cares what caliber? Why be hung up on ballistics at all? SBR's are loud, but silencers are...

What have the wait times been ?

Even though I've had some headaches on tracking, the NFA process was fine. Sent third week of Feb, approved third week of June. Form 4 Trust...first one. I guess I did the paperwork alright!

    Form 4 Continuing Saga....

The seller is out of town currently, but I know he'll check dilligently through his stuff. Not at all worried about that. On a weird hunch...does the ATF ever send more than one stamp in one mailing? I'm asking as I know the seller got some stuff back in the mail from them not long after the...

    Form 4 Continuing Saga....

Cool...thanks! Stuff happens... Hey, I'm trying to look at the bright side: I probably would have blazed through a thousand rounds by now if I had it. I've saved a little more money for a few more rounds!

Mike, that's a good point and one that I certainly won't argue.

    Petition for Texas Open Carry

No offense....but I DO NOT nor WILL I support open carry. I think it's a bad idea...not because of people on this forum and the good folks who actually take the responsibility of owning a firearm and training with it/them seriously...and I think people here are in that crowd. I'm against it...

    Form 4 Continuing Saga....

I have a nother thread posted, but long story short, I sent my paperwork in for my first NFA weapon, an YHM SBR (really sweet) third week of February. It's a trust. I gave good folks at the ATF lots of time...didn't call until June and it was "in process" (right term?) At any rate, I...

    Ok...this wait is getting ridiculous...

OK, almost good news.... I got hold of a very nice lady today that said my Form 4 was approved....on June 17!!!:what: So my next question was..."I haven't seen it, where would it have been sent?" Her response: "Call the dealer..." My response..."I bought it from an individual..." Her...

    Illinois FOID card

What are you waiting on? That someone is YOU!!! Hey, I'm guilty of it to...the government does something I don't like, and the first thing out of my mouth is "someone should..." That someone is you and others like you in the same situation. If it's important to you, then do it. I'm not...

advice on AK 47 or ar 15

I'm not a mall ninja, I regret not having served my country in the military, nor have I seen combat...basically, I'm just a straight, honest interwebs surfing gun nut. I can tell you this: I enjoy taking and shooting various rifle classes designed for educational purposes. While I own a...

    AK buffer?

I built an OOW reciever that basically required a buffer to keep the BCG from poping out of the receiver. It was obviously cut a little out of spec. The buffer fixed this. I've found buffers to be pretty effective in reducing felt recoil...at least to a degree.

    Ok...this wait is getting ridiculous...

Gee whiz...the law and the process are the same stinking age for crying out loud! So are the instruments with which we apply. Yea, there's a better way...all right. I couldn't invent a more screwed up way of doing it...and I'm pretty good at screwing stuff up!:D
