How do you like this rifle?? I really wanted one since nodak spud came out with iron sights for it. The only issue i have is the barrel length and twist rate. With that 1/8 twist shooting the heavier 60 something grains would be preferred but i am not sure what velocity would be out of a 16...
I tried this with a cleaning rod and it was a headache. I will have to pick these up and give it a try. I used the hornady gauge but I have a 22H and it seems like a PITA to get a modified case for it
If you aren't into reloading don't bother. Where i live most of the shooting is at 200 yards and in and I enjoy reloading so for me the hornet checks all the boxes
It makes a nice close range target round and a relaxing hobby reloading
i have one on my SKS and it is great but the peep part keeps working itself loose
I might bite the bullet and switch to tech sights. The Williams is small and lightweight but the screw to hold it on is just pushing down on the on the plate so even loctite doesn't seems to add much. It isn't...
Anyone loading for 450 bushmaster? If so any good cheap bullet loads with lil gun powder
I have seen people using 45 acp bullets but not sure how they would hold up at rifle velocity
I set mine up with the revised improved battle sight zero. There are all kinds of websites that explain it but basically you zero it at 25 yards and can adjust it to shoot at 50 / 100 / 200 and then use the 3, 4 or 5 marks for those. I use it with my 62 gr reloads and it is poa- poi out to...
I picked up a 450 bushmaster upper a few months ago. Only ran a box of ammo thru it at 50 yards. Performed fine. The accuracy could have been better but I had a cheap red dot and a nervous flinch : ) I was definitely the problem
I set mine 16 in bushmaster with the revised improved battle sight zero. Works great with 55 & 62 gr. My rifle shoots the 62 gr better and it is point of aim point of impact. with 55 gr i have to shoot apple on a post but worked out to 300. I have yet to try 4, 5 or 6 hundred with it
The...
I second the Hog hunter. I have the original version and it stacks them on top of each other at 100 yards. I don't shoot suppressed but it has a threaded barrel so i put a birdcage flash hider on it. Between that and the weight the crosshairs barely lift off the target when i shoot - 60 gr...
I would go with 223. I have a CZ 22 Hornet and it is great but getting brass is a pain especially right now. I am pretty sure all the major manufactures are spitting out 223 brass to keep up with demand
There are so many more bullet offerings you can use in a 223 depending on twist rate. I...
I am bummed that they are discontinuing the 527. I feel like the last few years they were made a little cheaper. Wasn't a fan of my later production 223 carbine with the fiber optic sight. Shot pretty well but just felt like it had a little less soul
I won 4 527's but have zero interest in...
I own 4 of these and I love them. I have both carbines a lux in 22 hornet and another lux in 223. I might sell the carbine as the lux fulfills all my needs but all are quality rifles
