what bullet pullers do you use?

The Hornady Cam Lock is not intended for 9/40/45.

Proud Primer - what would you do?

I'd give it a gentle push to seat it deeper. Unlike a firing pin, a primer seating punch distributes force over a wide area of the primer, nearly to the perimeter, reducing the probability of 'bang'. An excessive amount of 'push' would be needed to crush the entire base of the primer to elicit a...

What chronograph would you buy today and Why

I've not delved into chrono options but have found the Competition Electronics ProChrono to do all I need...simple enough. The less time I spend with a chrono, the better!

    Which case lubricant?

Hornady One Shot for handgun brass. Post-lube wiping/tumbling adds a step I can do without.

Wet tumbling - separating pins from brass with a media separator

It's not luck, it's your technique. The solution is to break the surface tension between pin and brass. The most effective means: Turning or shaking a basket in open air isn't as nearly as effective as being immersed in water.

    .38 vs. 357

.38 S&W Special or as most abbreviate to .38 Special. 38 S&W (without the Special) is a different animal altogether. Advantages of .357 M? There are certainly advantages, even disadvantages, but until you qualify your needs, I wouldn't be concerned at all. No problem to load M brass across the...

what bullet pullers do you use?

Hornady Camlock. It's critical to slowly tension the collet either by 'feel' (when it contacts/halted by the case mouth) or visually, requiring a flashlight aimed upward to verify the grab is bullet, not brass. Steady while operating the ram. I tried the RCBS - unimpressed. All pullers have...

Pushing Berry's 44 mag too fast??

You've pushed thin plated/damaged-by-crimp bullets to 1800 fps or more and they remain intact? Would be interesting to see vel differences between firm and no crimp.

Pushing Berry's 44 mag too fast??

Three primary concerns: Don't know about leading but would expect multiple holes in a paper target after the bullet comes apart. Assuming no cannelure/crimp groove, you're left with a taper crimp >> only neck tension to hold >> would plan on bullet movement/assoc problems in tube of 20" lever...

    I NEED A EXPLANATION!!!

Pound on a piece of carbon steel with no risk of damage to the bbl? I know brass is safely used as a squib rod but carbon steel would give me pause.

    Baking My Wet Tumbled Brass

Any differences in sound when rolling around two bags of brass, one baked and the other unbaked? Did the heat discolor your brass? If yes to either, you have your answer. Whether the metallurgical change is significant is a different matter. 300 F sounds excessively hot.

    10mm Brass Shortage?

Indeed, futzing with dies is tedious. I went with Redding die spacers for calibers .38 (.135) and .44 cal (.125). The 40SW/10 AUTO space (.142) is close to the .38.

    10mm Brass Shortage?

My brass-chasing days are behind me since I constructed a blocker. Sooo much nicer than the alternatives of acres of tarp or low orbit into the great beyond.

    New Press for 300 RUM

No knocks against a robust single stage like The Boss. When occupying my valuable bench space and in the interest of efficiency, I went with a turret. Redding T-7. Reddings are robust and US made. Son can plant his sizing, seating, depriming and pulling dies and still have room for his next...

Quick Question: LPP Mag for 10mm?

9.3 Longshot, Hornady 180 FMJ, Fed 150 LPP, Starline...avg 1276 from a G20. Since when, I'm unsure, but per Hodgdon, Longshot min/max load was 8.5/9.5. Was. Within the past year Hodgdon revised their Lonshot data, now 7.0/8.2. What eye-opening testing prompted that?

    First Squib in 33 Years

Keep your rod clean and free of impregnated grit. The tape helps keep this brass rod centered and off the rifling, esp the end piece.

    Priming system lube

A few photos of the RL1000 primer assy may help the panel as many are unfamiliar with it. Some complexity as I recall. I've smoothed primer delivery by polishing (2000 sandpaper) the shuttle and housing it rides through...plus a touch of graphite and it glides nicely.

    Priming system lube

Just a dash of powdered graphite on all four sides of the Primer Slide (D550) has been effective. If you're having hiccups with your shuttle (primers turning sideways/upside down/jumping out), provide a make/model for solid solutions.

Probability and Statistics, Work up sample size

You are ill equipped to do any of that with 16 bullets. Totally unreasonable. Yet this is where some hunters conclude 'good enough'...go hunting, wound an animal... Even with perfect ammo, consistently hitting at 400 yds is not something that comes over a weekend of shooting. Methodical...

Probability and Statistics, Work up sample size

Wow, verbose. No kabooms and not comfortable with the theoretical 'near max load start' approach. Doubt you'll find that approach recommended in a respected manual. So many seem to be chasing numbers vs reading manuals and tuning accuracy. Stay safe!
