    TOO many choices

I have the Shield 9mm, G26 and XDs 45. I like them all for different reasons and carry them all at different times. Of the three, the Shield and G26 get the most use. Not to add more confusion, but I also carry my G19 and M&P 9 Compact quite a bit too. It all just depends on what I'm wearing...

    AR-15 budget build - receivers?

As mentioned, PSA has sales from time-to-time for $50 lowers. AimSurplus offers SA&A lowers for $60, in addition to the Aero Precision for $85 (in stock now) and the Spike's for $80 (w/free shipping). Aim also offers the Spike's Calico Jack, Punisher and Zombie lowers for $90 (also w/free...

.300BLK - Poised to win or doomed to fail?

I just got my Delta Company Arms 10.3" Blackout barrel yesterday. There will be a new SBR'd AR born this holiday season!

Does any QD (quick detatch) mount have windage adjustment?

The Larue LT111, LT112 and LT158 all offer some cant in the mount. I'm not sure if those will work for you, because I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for (I must be missing something).

    Savage or CZ?

If you're going for a .223, I see no need for all the extra weight of a typical short action rifle. Especially if you're already familiar with CZs. I've got 4 Savage rifles now, all chambered in short action calibers. I also own 3 CZ 527s, all in calibers prefectly suited to the micro action.

CZ 527 or Winchester Model 70?

I have three CZ 527s. IMHO, you really can't go wrong with them.

    Complete SBRs in 300BLK

I'm hoping that my 10.3" DCA barrel arrives tomorrow so I can do some "holiday upper building" this weekend. I just have to decide which forend/rail/tube I want to use. Luckily, I already have two registered SBR lowers I can throw it on. No waiting for this one!

    Overall 6.5 grendel opinion

Midway has Hornady ($37/50pcs) Grendel brass in stock right now that is marginally more than their ($34/50pcs) .308 brass. Just sayin'. ;)

    Complete SBRs in 300BLK

    - Have it engraved on the front of the magwell or under the trigger-guard. Both places are very inconspicuous. - Once you go through the time/expense and hassle of the NFA process, selling one will seem very unappealing. - See my first reply above. - A stripped AR lower fits fine in a small...

Savage 10 Precision Carbine stock question

I've got two of them... I actually sprayed the stocks with matte clear Amluma-Hyde II. Not so much for the dirt, but more because the factory camo paint seems to chip and flake off just from looking at it. ETA: The one on the right (.308 10PC) shoots very, very well. So well that when...

    Rem 1100 TAC 4

I love my TAC-4. I run the aforementioned Walmart bulk packs without issue. Just keep is a bit wet until it gets broken in.

Better performing round: 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC

Inside 400 yards, it's a wash. Beyond that and the Grendel starts to shine.

.300BLK - Poised to win or doomed to fail?

I have a CZ 527 action out at McGowen Precision right now being rebarreled for 300 BLK. I've got a stack of magazines here I need to modify before the rifle comes back, though. My ongoing build -> http://www.cz527.com/527-variants-and-wildcats/about-to-get-started-on-a-300blk-conversion!/msg77/

What brand(s) of AR's do you own?

I have never purchased an AR in anything more than "stripped lower" configuration, so technically, all of mine are Frankenguns. If you go by the brand of lower, I have Stag, DPMS, RRA, (multiple) Essential Arms, Zombie Defense, Spike's Tactical, DDLES and (multiple) PSA. I even have two 0%...

    9mm AR15 Build

With a ramped bolt, you can use any regular LPK. I'm not sure anyone is even making a 9mm bolt that is NOT ramped these days. As for the buffer, you can use a regular carbine buffer, but most use a heaver (H1/2/3) one. I am running Slash's 9mm Heavy Q buffer in mine...

    WTB savage 10fp-sr .308.....need info

    The Savage Rifle Club

This is my current "long range" stick, a Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine in .308 Winchester. It's got a 20" medium/heavy barrel, detachable box magazine, Accutrigger, digital camo Accustock and a Harris tilt/swivel bipod. The scope is a Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12x44mm (FFP, mil/mil...

Savage 2012 lineup? Anybody have info?

Check out the new Trophy Hunter XP packages. These come with a 3-9x40 Nikon BDC scope, which is a considerable upgrade over previous packages we have offered. It is completely compatible with Nikon's proprietary Spot-On ballistic software. We anticipate actual sales prices to be $499 to $599 for...

308 bolt face...what caliber should I rebarrel for?

With all of the 6.5mm discussion, you should probably read Zak Smith's excellent article on the short action 6.5mm offerings... http://demigodllc.com/articles/6.5-shootout-260-6.5x47-6.5-creedmoor/

308 bolt face...what caliber should I rebarrel for?

I think you're on the right track with the .260 Remington. I think it is just about the most underrated, over performing short action cartridge ever designed. Accuracy should be fine for your "pencil" barrel. Recoil will fall squarely between the .308 and the .243, but ballistics will be...
