I would get a longer barrel (various manufacturers) and try it with the stock bushing for fitment. You may not need a new bushing. The barrel bulge is on bull barreled
guns that do not use a bushing. I don't think you can convert them to use a bushing.
Mark Mark --- Your Gun Your WAY. People were aghast when I drilled 5 holes down the barrel of my Smith Mod 25 in .45acp to act as a compensater --- UNTIL --- they shot it.
Then they said,"Wow, that really holds the muzzle rise down." It worked.
Walkalong --- That chrome pointy thingy that looks like a small plumb bob could be a chrome bolt on spike that some people bolt on their motorcycles because they
think it looks badass.
In 12yrs of shooting matches, I have seen that happen a number of times. Usually the shooter says he/she was making the gun safe while changing stations so they
wouldn't be DQed.
If I already owned a 1911 in .45acp, I would get a revolver in .45acp.
If I already owned a 1911 in 10mm, I would get a revolver in 10mm.
I like the commonality of ammo and components for reloading.
