    What’s your favorite semiauto?

Just joking about American tourists renting a bullet resistant vehicle.

    What’s your favorite semiauto?

I wasn't aware that Italians can't arm themselves with a 9mm FMJ. Tell us more about Italian gun laws. Can American tourists rent the Popemobile?

My new (to me) Colt Detective Special

Just saw a new Colt .38 snubby nickel plated for $1350 at the LGS. I just couldn't see that much value in it. I already have J-frames and a German 6 shot .357 snubby, not to mention the .44 spl snubbies so what do I need a gun that will lose hundreds in value if I actually want to shoot it?

What horribly ugly, cheap, and expensive? Take a look inside!

When the Suomi I ordered arrived at my LGS for the FFL transfer the manager said, "My mama told me don't you buy no ugly gun." Then I had Don McClure tune it up. When the manager saw my range video of emptying a 72 round drum ON TARGET in under 20 seconds then the gun didn't look so ugly. But...

    EDC for new female shooter

I agree with all those who say let HER decide. Don't they say at Gunsite, "ANY gun will do if YOU will do." Let her try out a bunch of different roscoes, and see what she likes and does well with. But whatever you do, do NOT point out to her that at least the gun will function normally every...

    Airsoft pistols?

People in Jersey have my sympathy. Worst inland shark attack. Terrible smells when we drove through. Doesn't trust its citizens to carry. Permits to own toys. Snooky. Chris Christy. Sheesh. NuShootr, I hope you make a lot more money than me, or have some other really good reason to live there...

.45 acp revolver vs 9 mm pros and cons

I have a snub nose alloy S&W AirLite .45 app that takes the same moon clips as my 625. I can't get 12 shots out of it on target in 2.99 seconds like Gerry M. More like 4 seconds. Good enough for me. LOVE that revolver, one of my favorites!

"Without hand fighting skills, you are just a walking holster"

My two cents; 95% of unarmed street fights go to the ground fast. I've been able to anticipate and avoid most violent confrontations for just over 45 years. So what happened back then? A drunk Brit at 2:30am hitting his girlfriend in my campsite in Yosemite. He had 40 pounds on me and lots of...

    Should I carry a S&W Model 36?

Many have pointed out the limitation of only five rounds, but I often carry a five shot .44spl. Autos may carry more rounds but revolvers give the most power for carry weight unless you are one of those long barrel guys. When I got my first concealed carry license 40 years ago I carried a 15...

    T/C pistol barrel ???

I have a .41 mag Contender barrel. Kicks pretty hard but has penetration and knockdown. At 6,000' we are too high for pigs, but just south of here they've been playing hell near the lower Virgin River. Thinking about a FLIR scope. I bet the homeless of Clark and Washington counties would love a...

    .41 Mag Association

Love .41 mag. Shooting it for more than 20 years. I've got snub nose Terminator, a Ruger New Model Blackhawk, a S&W model 657 (6" stainless), a Contender barrel, and of course a Marlin lever action with 20" barrel. The 657 is one of my favorite wheel guns. It always goes with me on river trips...

    Lever Guns: 1873 vs 1892

The last climbing video I made one of the videographers was from northern Utah and is the great grandson of John Moses Browning. Anyway my latest lever gun is a stainless Marlin with composite furniture chambered in .357 mag. It too is not rattly. It has a very solid feel to it and I suspect it...

    Lever Guns: 1873 vs 1892

Not sure but it was purchased in New York too, but out on the island (people can own handguns there). If by "confusing" you mean that if you don't maintain pull apart it just goes "click" then likely yes. Love the .22 pump. My Brazilian knock off has taken countless varmints. Yeah BITD A&F...

What?!!! Another Charter Arms in the house?

Love .44 special, but my 3, all 5 shots, are not Charter Arms I have a steel 2" Taurus, a steel S&W 2.5" and a titanium S&W 3". Any of them have a lot of stopping power in a compact package.

    Liking my Remington 1911R1S

Want to go a few rounds on the dueling tree with me at say $100/ game going to Paralyzed Veterans of America. I shoot a Les Baer, but I had a quad bypass less than 3 months ago. Catch me while I'm weak. I don't mind (gave $6000+ last year.) I'll even loan you a stack of mags. Got ammo too.

    Lever Guns: 1873 vs 1892

DJ, a truly remarkable post! Well, I have over a dozen Cowboy long guns and , excepting the Shiloh Sharps that cost 5X as much and has a 25 pound barrel, the best looking that is within reason to carry is my Uberti pump carbine in .45 Colt; case hardened side plates, octagonal barrel, nice...

    Thoughts on .32ACP pocket pistols

I have a 1903, a Seecamp, and a Tomcat. Not a problem with any. I like the Seecamp for a holdout. But then I have lots of good .380s too and wouldn't likely carry anything smaller alone. My standard carry is a 9mm Sig 938.

What firearm have you owned the longest?

In '79 I bought a S&W model 19 as my first gun. It was stolen for an hour the following year before tracking down the thief. In 2009 on the 30th anniversary of the purchase I posed with it and the same clerk who sold it to me! A factory tuneup and it is still smooth as butter. Gonna keep it...

Ruger Launches an LCP in .22LR

A SD gun is only good if you actually carry it so a weak round is better than none. I've been carrying a NAA little .22mag, which actually can penetrate substantially.

What 1911 to trade for Mauser 1938 P08?

Back in the '90s I picked up a barely used Les Baer Thunder Ranch for $1200. It seems that the original buyer was a dilettante millionaire who was annoyed that the new gun was so tight that it was hard to rack the slide. I can attest that it is a bit easier after a 10,000 round break in. It is...
