These are all great points! Haven't been in the garage in a couple days. Gonna get her cleaned up and give more attention to the stock.

    Super Inconsistent Groups

Dayum.... wasn't expecting this much traffic. Been a great read so far. I appreciate everyone's attentiveness to my problem. Here's where I'm at: Was gonna just re torque everything, load up a test batch, and test again. Then, thought, nah, never been through the entire rifle so what the...

    Super Inconsistent Groups

Hi all- I normally post down in the handloading section, but I have a quandry. I shoot 4-5 rifles consistently that I have handloaded and found accurate loads for. The sixth though, is becoming a point of frustration. It's a 308 and regardless of the bullet, powder, and day, I can't shoot a...

    Speer 15th Win231 and 45acp Load Data

Been playing with that in a 308 rifle, two different powders tighten up with the same bullet when I get at 100% or slightly compressed. They are hovering at max though and everything looked fine. Slowly starting to shift my focus from using "the best recommendation" to "the best case fill."

    Speer 15th Win231 and 45acp Load Data

It is most satisfying when dippers are right on the money with different powders.

    Speer 15th Win231 and 45acp Load Data

Thanks for the replies  apparently I didn't search too well as the website brought up brought up a bunch of other threads with the same question :neener: I'll back it down for the next batch and see if POI is similar. I only plink, but I enjoy it, and do it a lot in the wintertime when...

    Speer 15th Win231 and 45acp Load Data

Been loading and shooting 5.6 grains of HP38 (put win231 in the title because everyone-even the manuals- say win231) with a 230gr plated RN. I chose that load because Speer 15th (my preferred) specifies 5.6 as the max charge for lead and the min for jacketed in 230gr RN. My little dandy drops...

Resizing Ranier Plated 38 Boolits for 9mm

My only polymer wonder is a p365. Everything else is wood and steel, and will continue to be that way... Ya, I think the "I'm overthinking this" bug got me.

    Finally got a wet tumbler

That too, i kinda chose to give up the jewelry look for squeaky clean cases. Better on the dies, the press, and just the entire process. To me, its a much more pleasant experience after moving to wet tumbling.

    Finally got a wet tumbler

Me too with a dry rag. tried sizing it and then tumbling to remove the loob and got sick of my nice round necks getting slightly bent

Resizing Ranier Plated 38 Boolits for 9mm

I think this is whats gonna end up happening. I think I've read through too many threads discussing pressure over the years haha.

Resizing Ranier Plated 38 Boolits for 9mm

Thanks for the replies fellers! I'll load up a few to test as is. I was loading up a large batch of 45acp after I posted the thread and this thought hit me while I was crimping. Gonna test this one out too.

    Finally got a wet tumbler

I just use dawn dish soap and pins. Without dish soap, a lot of the crud won't stay suspended. Tried lemishine and wound up with pretty purple case with even the most small amounts. Still shoot fine, but it bugged me, so no more. I honestly think the most important step in the process is...

Resizing Ranier Plated 38 Boolits for 9mm

Hi all! I have inherited about a thousand Rainer 125 grain boolits meant for 38 special. I don't own a 38. Could I theoretically pick up a Lee boolit sizing die and size these down to .356? Anyone tried that? I inherited more but those are 158 lswc. So a 38 might move up to the short list...

Wild Hair for IMR4895 308 Cast Loads

I understand now.. honestly, I did read it as if it were intended my way. I was like, "this guy just gave a super good response to my original question then wrapped it up with a you ain't ready....!?!!?" After reading it again from that perspective, I totally get it, and totally agree pardon...
