Anyone have a favorite pistol safe for use while I am home? I have a two year old and need to have it locked where he can't get to it but I can in a hurry. Love biometric but only have about $100 to spend. Thanks!
Very good points. I'm leaning towards the G26 because it is the weapon that I am the best shot with. As long as it looks like a big pda/blackberry in my pocket I can deal with the concealability issues. Thanks everyone for all your solid advice and input!
Ankle carry doesn't turn me on, I want to be able to draw without bending down if I need to.
Right now my 642 in my bob mika pocket holster is noticeable, but you can't tell it's a gun. It looks like a blackberry. Since my suit pockets are all pretty deep (I carry IWB when wearing jeans) I'm...
Thanks all for the replies. Since I wear a suit to work regularly (but rarely wear the jacket unless I have to, I live in Texas and it is HOT here...) I pocket carry. My suits have deep pockets, but I don't know if the Glock will be too large. My 642 rides in a bob mika right now in my pocket...
Hi All,
I currently have a 642 for my concealed carry. I love everything about it except that after hundreds and hundreds of rounds I am a relatively lousy shot with it.
Not good for a weapon I might need in a pinch.
I am a much better shot with a G 26, and have been admiring the Kahr...
When I was 19 I spent a year volunteering for the DAV by driving one of their vans equipped to haul around guys in wheelchairs each week. I'd get in the early AM, get the van, pick up a bunch of old guys and drive them down to the V.A. in San Diego. I'd hang out at the hospital and then take 'em...
My wife very much appreciates that I am the family provider and protector. Good for you on your first house, you should be proud and I am sure the missus is very proud of you! :)
Mordechai, not much new I can add here but I think you are on the right track by educationg your rabbi. My wife and I are Orthodox Jews, and at our shul here in L.A. a number of the guys own guns. But Ortho Jews tend to be conservative not just in religious observance and lifestyle, but also...
From one whose connection to the military is through family (father, uncle and grandfather), regardless of whether or not you wear your medals you are heroes to alot of us. My Grandfather was proud of his long career in the Marine Corps but he was always low key about his service. He's buried...
I Joined The Club! Comments and Questions
Hi All
I'm an occasional poster and a long time lurker. After purchasing my first gun (Springfield XD9 4") last month, I've officially joined the 642 club this week :D . I bought mone with Lasergrips. I fired 50 rounds at the range Wednesday night...
Forget the XD Holster
It does the trick but it's not reason enough to get the XD. I bought my 4" XD9 primarily because of the fit in my hand, the gLock just doesn't do it for me. I love how it shoots and for me as my first gun has been everything I could have asked for out of it. With that...
Israel
Nice to see my fellow Jewish gun owners here chiming in. As others have pointed out, the image many have of Israel who have not spent time there can be very different from the reality. I am not Israeli but have spent quite a bit of time there on numerous visits. Within the major cities...
Hi All
I'm picking up my new 642 w/lasergrips next week, and would love to hear about your favorite holster. I'm looking primarily for an IWB rather than a pocket holster. Thanks!
Hi All
I am new to firearms and am considering whether to buy a shotgun or handgun for self-defense. I am taking a basic firearms class at a local range next week. I live in Los Angeles, and after the second shooting within 6 blocks of my apt. over the past couple months, i've decided I need...
