Don't drop the slide on an empty chamber (Mas Ayoob video)

When the life expectancy of deployed equipment and personnel is taken into the overall equation, I have serious doubts the government really cares as far as the ”big picture numbers game” is concerned - so “best practice guidelines” for sidearms with a near - nonexistent combat role might be...

Don't drop the slide on an empty chamber (Mas Ayoob video)

Goateed gunslingers? Let’s add double - breasted buttoned pockets and cargo pants to the image… And, those shoes. What on earth do you call those quasi - work shoes they wear?

Don't drop the slide on an empty chamber (Mas Ayoob video)

“Navy S.E.A.L. spouts bubbasumptions on dropping empty slide on P226.” Immense technical qualifications!

Don't drop the slide on an empty chamber (Mas Ayoob video)

”Done much research…” Some form of imaging or microscopy evaluating crystalline structure? FEAnalysis? Any measurements with fancy equipment? Or just more bubbasayso?

    Astigmatism and red dots

Most of the LED tech and glass for this kind of equipment has been worked out to at least the “above average” level, much like our little AR cottage industry. Raise the rear iron sight, and use the pinhole aperture. If the red dot flare is attenuated, then the likely cause is astigmatism. You...

    9mm Pure Target Gun

The P226 in its six - inch version’s pretty slick (the legacy model, not the hyperangular overfenestrated railed monstrosities of nowadays).

How can I resize the brass before using an expanding mandrel?

Technically prone to introducing inconsistencies, keeping all necks at the same thickness despite careful "neck turning." May need to vary bushings with each resizing due to said 0.001" inconsistencies. Any FLS die + subsequent dilating mandrel use probably would yield "good enough" consistency.

    Concrete mixer for brass tumbling

Be careful with concrete mixers - THOSE are the tools which really peen case lips (among other things), if you don't get the time / media / brass combination right.

    Scope for AR 10?

It‘s the one in this video…

    9mm Case Head Separation

Or, you could get a nice, tight - chambered “match” barrel :p

    Scope for AR 10?

Nice thing about AR-10s is that there's frequently enough upper receiver rail space to not require cantilevered scope mounts.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph

Used that brand since it first came out. Batteries, cables, everything they make that's applicable. Had one 26800mAh battery that saw daily use from 2017, which ceased recharging two weeks ago. Pretty good.

Removing stuck muzzle device - Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle

If using heat, apply it quickly and intensely to the muzzle device, as to minimize heat transfer to the barrel... The point being, you want the muzzle device to expand without significant heat migrating to the barrel, which would make it do the exact same thing - which is expand! Think of it...

    Double double stack magazines anyone?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectre_M4 First saw a schematic for that type of magazine in this firearm, but it's likely been tried out earlier...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph

My TomTom GO 910 still works, would you believe… It uses a really small Hitachi HDD, one that actually has platters and spins. I think I bought it in 2006.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph

That behavior sounds like a TomTom GPS. Sometimes, they suddenly appear “dead,” and would require a toothpick to depress a tiny reset button while pressing the power button for a few seconds while powered. Then, the device would miraculously come to life. Always had a toothpick in the vehicle...
