It's failing to extract the spent round, as in the photo. I'll take a close look at the extractors on the two BCGs I have (one works fine, the other doesn't) and see if I can see any difference.

I don't have a photo from my rifle, but it looks pretty much like the image below that I found online. The new round feeding in gets bent and has to be discarded.

I ordered a SecureIt Agile 52 Plus gun locker since they're having a good sale (in advance of moving distribution sites).

My first two silencers were both ordered in early Aug'20, checks cashed 9/8/20 and 10/21/20, and both stamps came back at end of June'21 (10 1/2 months after purchase). I'm curious whether the process is a little faster once you're been through the system.

Is the idea that if the bolt isn't locking back on an empty mag then there's a problem with cycling, which could be due to the ammo? The gun was locking back fine on empty mags, and the instructors did suspect the problem could be with one of the mags. But I didn't have my mags numbered and...

It's a slick tool (I bought one and used it), but I have to say I wasn't able to start the bolt catch pin using this (probably spent 20 minutes trying). The problem was that the pin was loose in the hole in the end of the tool, and the tool is pretty short so it was hard to connect with it...

I recommend this as well. I went down the same path as OP last year and bought a 9mm AR-style pistol. It didn't quite scratch the AR15 itch and I ended up buying a 16" rifle.

One big difference is that I was able to do most of the work at my desk in the comfort of A/C. Only needed to go in the sweltering workshop for a couple of steps that required the bench vice.
