Shoulder Crushing Using Lee Neck Sizing Die

How hot are your reloads? Do you anneal? It could be work hardening of the brass. As the brass gets harder, it looses some of its "spring back". It gets close and closer to the real dimensions of the bore. Maybe you have reached the point where you have to full lengt resize. After a full length...

    Vihtivouri powders

N120 is a fast burning rifle powder. Might not be the best for 308 and 30/30. I have used N133 and N135 for 308. Might work for 300blk.

    Cold Steel 4 Max Scout

There is supposed to be a pin you put through the hole to "lock" it open. Sort of like a fixed blade

Help needed. Dimensions of the seater plug in a Lee Seating Die in 45/70

I load mostly bullets with large meplats. And I have observed that if I am not very careful when seating the bullet (with my hands) into the belled mouth of the cartridge, the bullet is seated crooked. I think it is more likely that the bullet binds, and does not self-adjust when using a...

Help needed. Dimensions of the seater plug in a Lee Seating Die in 45/70

I know you can order a flat seating plug from Lee. The problem is I live in Norway. And every company I have had dealings with in Amerika demands ridiculous amounts in shipping! If the are willing to ship international. I have axess to a lathe and suitable bar stock. So making on should be a...

Help needed. Dimensions of the seater plug in a Lee Seating Die in 45/70

I am looking into making a seater plug for wide flat nosed bullets. But I am away at work and do not have access to my reloading dies. Is there anybody with this die available that could take some quick measurements for me? I need the diameter of the plug, the diameter of the flange, the...

Please define "brush gun" for me...???

When I'm thinking Brush Gun, I think of the act of hunting in thick brush. I think the myth of "brush busting calibers/cartridges" has been more or less debunked. So for me it meens a short handy rifle with a low power scope, red dot or iron sights. Something I can carry in my hands all day. For...

Remington 7 Mannlicher in 350 Rem Mag

There must be a lot of blood vessels in that area! It really bleeds. I was attending a practical shooting class a couple of years ago, and one of the participants managed three cuts in one night! He was a bit skittish behind the trigger the next day!!

    Which group would you pursue?

If you're buddy is going for squirrels at 200 meters, keep trying :-) But for deer inside 2-300 meters your already there!

Remington 7 Mannlicher in 350 Rem Mag

I have not become a member of the "half moon club" yet ( a norwegian frase for the classic cut above the eye). But I felt this stock/scope combo might make me a member :-)

Wet sand or dry sand for catching bullets?

I have shot into wet and dry gravel. Can't say I have noticed a huge difference. Wet sand will keep the dust down. I have not tried hollow points, only large maplat bullets in 45/70 and 356 Winchester

Remington 7 Mannlicher in 350 Rem Mag

A quick update on the project. Mine has 4 holes, so I bought the Talley Light Weight one pice bases. Fits like a charm. The only problem I found was that the intended scope was to close to my face. I had to scoot my head back on the stock to get rid of the "shadows" in the scope. So I decided to...

Remington 7 Mannlicher in 350 Rem Mag

I've had an update on my chopped Mannlicher (the stock has been cut down). It is the 4-hole version. It arrived in the post yesterday, but I am away working on an oil rig, so my wife picked it up for me. Another reason to look forward to getting home! So now I can start looking at mounting...

Remington 7 Mannlicher in 350 Rem Mag

Thanks a lot for the information! So after your smith drilled the fourth hole you are able to use the regular mounts for the 7? Thats a sweet looking rifle by the way. And looks like a nice stock. The previous owner cut back the Mannlicher stock on mine, so I might be looking for an replacement.

Remington 7 Mannlicher in 350 Rem Mag

I am looking into buying a Remington 7 in 350 Rem Mag. It has the mannlicher stock. I have tried to find some information regarding scope mounting options. I have heard that some 7's have three holes in the receiver and some have 4. Is there somebody who knowes? Any answers would be much...
