    Decapping dirty brass

I am not. I have a system. A large glass bowl and a salad strainer (larger gauge holes that filter cases but let pins through. I always give a knock of the brass, upside down, to be sure. Like an old school Frankford Arsenal dry tumbler basket? I could potentially use that and a wide, shallow...

    Decapping dirty brass

I dry tumble for a short period of time to make me feel better about my die. Decap/resize then wet tumble if I don’t wanna deal with manual primer pockets cleaning . Clean the die after each run with some brake cleaner. Pretty sure carbide > dirt. The main problem with wet for me, is the...

44 mag reloads Rifle vs Revolver

Hornady and I think Speer are the only ones that give a little different load data (pretty much powder used). I’ll post below. Speer shows LP primers for handgun, and LPM for rifle. Hornady uses WInchester LP. I’ve spoken at length with Western powders, and they use magnum for magnum, and...

    inconsistent primer seating

I always go hand-primer. As @9mmepiphany pointed out. .003-.005 below flush is the prevailing wisdom. I’ve loaded plenty of 10mm and even 44mag to .010-.011 and never had a problem. Caveat: I can’t hit a barn from 15 yards.

    Primers

Agreed. I bought 8x100 Federal Match LP’s online from Cabelas for pickup next week or two. Turns out they were mismarked and were LPM’s. I have 2200 LPM’s. Considering a “mag dump” in my 1894 Lever is 8+1, I’m gonna sell them locally. They were $5+ tax and I’ve gotta drive hour round trip. I’ll...

Even the NYT admits normal people are driving sales up

Good for you! Glad it’s something exciting for you. I was never raised around guns consistently. Discovered on my own.

Aren’t there exceptions to mandated waiting periods and mandated FFL-mediated personal transfers when dealing with violent crime victims in some states? (ie. you need the gun immediately for defense against a second attack)...or am I dreaming?

Even the NYT admits normal people are driving sales up

The second someone even decides to buy a gun because of a perceived defensive need, most anti-gun sentiment necessarily evaporates

On the OP subject...This really all rolls into educating the new arrivals to the self/personal defense scene. “From my cold dead hands” makes gun owners sound like lunatics. Responsible and reasonable ownership is a better angle. Walking around in public with my AR, is a bad argument. Classified...

Well, most legislators don’t even really know the laws from my conversations and email. I had a very nice, well-intentioned individual at the governors liaison office in Spokane recommend that I go purchase my gun in Idaho, if I am not a felon and don’t wish to wait 10 days. Addressing with...

The militarizing of police was a direct response to the violence of the 70’s. I understand situational need, I just disagree with it as SOP, day-to-day.

I certainly hope so. Again it’s an opportunity to cast a light on why gun laws punish good citizens. While I have a 10 day waiting period stretch to a month, or have a CCW fingerprinting appointment that’s 6 months out, the ability to protect my family is in danger. While I wait, a criminal has...

Go. I’m just saying that LEO reform in the form of demilitarizing is a good thing. I choose not to connect police reform to BLM/Antifa etc. Literally nothing to do with each other for me. Police reform has been on my radar before this past summer. Civil asset forfeiture, no-knock warrants, red...

LEO + military coming together to back Trump... who signed off on Red-Flag laws. Just remember, when they come to take your guns, LEO and military will be carrying out the orders. Bet you'll wish LEO had less power when that happens. You'll be begging them to disobey orders. I'm 100% sure...
