I have the NAA Wasp. It's pretty accurate up to about 30 feet. But it's a b***** to reload. Even in a calm situation. In a moment of high stress?
As they say in Brooklyn, "Fugit about it"
What's funny is when I first got my standard Wrangler I couldn't hit anything with it now after it's broken in it's one of my most accurate single action guns
The Super Wranglers are available in my area for about $279. Anyone have experience with one yet?. It is obvious that they are meant to compete with the Heritage Rough Rider which I have two and like a lot.
I had this problem using cheap Herters .22 Lr in my Walther P22. It would fire but would not eject the spent brass. Now I use CCI Mini Mags in the P22 and use what's left of the Herters in my Ruger Wrangler. Problem solved
When I started this thread I was thinking more along the lines of the fact that Rimfire ammunition is far more likely to misfire than centerfire ammunition.
The whole debate about penetration of the round is secondary to whether or not the round will actually fire when needed.the bottom line is...
Good point. As much as I practice I can not hit targets at the range with my LCP II and my Bodyguard .380 until the target is so close that if it was an attacker he would be two steps away.
I have a NAA Wasp .22 Mag. Surprising accuracy.
I can group within two inches of the bullseye at 30 ft. At 30 ft with my S&W M&P Bodyguard? not even close
Is the .22 Magnum round useless for Self Defense? Is it only good for shooting targets at the range and making a lot of noise?
I know some of the guys here use it to shoot
varmint but no place in personal protection?
I'm the op of this thread so obviously I'm not anti .380 but it occurs to me that if you score a hit on an attacker with any caliber it's going to greatly reduce the chances that they're going to continue the attack. their brain is going to be wired to "I've been shot" not I need to jump back up...
The P38 is a Walther. In the pictures when he is in uniform he is wearing what appears to be a Walther P38 but he could have owned a PP and a PPK as well
