    Anyone using the F.A.S.T test?

I'd perform my emergency reload prior to my 360" scan.....even if you located another threat, you'd be unprepared to address it.

One shot each if multiple opponents?

Agreed.....and me NOT getting shot is very, very, very high on my list.

One shot each if multiple opponents?

This is a good thread. I had always been a proponent of the "Boarding House Rules" as mentioned - everybody gets one before anybody gets another (assuming that all threats were equal - distance, type of weapon, etc) This has been a good discussion to make me at least pause and reconsider...

    Question for Arkansas CHCL...

...instructors or holders: I've found that Arkansas has a live fire requirement in the safety course to obtain a CHCL - but what I can't nail down is a requirement for minimum number of rounds fired, distances, etc..... can anyone help me out ?

    Best Online Firearms Dealers

I have had success with CDNN. And, although I've never personally dealt with them, I can't recall reading a bad word about Summit Gun Brokers.

    Springfield XD Service 9mm

I own 2 XD platforms - .40 Service Model and 9mm Subcompact. Both excellent guns....reliable, accurate, and great ergonomics for me. They run any ammunition I've tried so far.

    I'm double pocket carrying now...any reason why I shouldn't?

Nothing wrong that I can see with double pocket carry (I've considered it myself, but declined only because it wouldn't leave enough room for my other stuff). I am firmly of the school of thought that a pocket carried handgun should NOT share that pocket with anything else. In our HCP...

    new shotgun

IMO, a Home Defense shotgun should have a minimalist approach. It should be light, fast into action, and dead nuts reliable. Adding a lot of accessories adds weight and more components that have the possibility of breaking, not working, getting in the way, etc. A HD shotgun does not need a...

    advice please

Force on Force role play training with airsoft/simmunition guns is generally considered about as close as you can get to the real deal. Still a damn sight away from actually looking at the elephant, but you'll still get an adrenaline dump and have a lot to remember (move to cover, protect...

which dvds would you recommend for OVERALL shotgun technique esp. defensive measures?

I own and recommend both Clint's Thunder Ranch Defensive Shotgun DVD and Suarez' Shotgun Gunfighting DVD. Another good one that hasn't been mentioned here yet is Tom Givens' (www.rangemaster.com) Defensive Shotgun DVD. It's a solid, no frills look at shotguns in their home defense/personal...

    New member looking for info

Consider the NRA Basic Firearms (Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle) classes. Usually offered around the country, and affordable. They would make a great foundation, and probably make anything you read make a lot more sense. Here's a link - just enter your State or zip code and which class you're...

    Florida Concealed Weapon License Question

    It appears that Florida has (somewhat) recently added a clause that requires live fire of at least one round. or who, as an instructor, attests to the completion of such courses, must maintain records certifying that he or she observed the student safely handle and discharge the firearm;
