Colt Photos
Hey guys,
Thanks for the replys. My wife was kind enough to take some good photos for me this week. I don't know if that gives you any extra info or not. Thanks in advance for the info!

Hey Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I'll have to wait until we visit again, as the in-laws are not tech-literate. I'll check on the US on the frame. So that would basically make it an Army redo by Colt?
Hey everyone,
My Father-in-Law just informed me that the Colt Single Action revolver that he's owned for 40 years has a frame serial # of 904. He had previously thought that the serial number was 130-thousand something because the trigger guard had been changed by Colt.
He spoke over the...
I have the Gunvault on my nightstand and love it. I've had it at least three years now. It's been 100% reliable, I open it twice a day, every day.
I bought the deluxe model which has a small led light in it, it also comes with an AC adapter which I don't use. I change the batteries once a...
Had my first and only ND years ago. I won't go into the details. I failed at two of the rules that day. The other two kept a friend alive.
Since that day I've added a "absolutely no ammo in the room in which I'm cleaning check." Not in boxes, cases, clips, magazines, closets or cabinets...
I'm sure it was totally psychological. Since I always expect that last round to be a bear, I just kept forcing them in until I couldn't push the stack down any further! Who knew that it would happen at 18?!?!
So I was organizing some ammo, and I opened the mostly empty box of GDHPs that reside in my bedside G17. I noticed there was only one round left in the box of twenty. Hmmm.....
Sure enough I've had the mag loaded with 18 rounds for the last three months or so (+1 in the chamber makes 19)...
Merry Christmas everyone,
While making my daily check of the Texas DPS website (waiting for approval of my CHL renewal), I stumbled across some interesting stats:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/crime_records/chl/ConvictionRatesReport2006.pdf
While these are Texas specific...
Got It!!!
I seriously didn't think I was going to make that one without a trip to ye olde smithe. You gotta love the interwebz! :D
Thanks to clemY and Cyanidegenocide for the links. I had the sear spring on the wrong side of the pivot pin which wasn't allowing the hammer and sear to meet...
Thanks for the great replies. I wish I had used Gun Scrubber, or some such stuff just to rinse it out, rather than taking the whole thing apart. Live and learn I guess.
This gives me some places to start! I'll post back with status reports!
So anyway...
There I am after my last range trip, cleaning my 22/45, marveling at how much crud there is in the frame of the pistol.
So... after having argued with myself for the better part of a minute, I decide I'm going to go beyond the recommended Ruger field strip and disassemble this...
230 gr. CEATPITMTEZJHPWG?
That's: Custom Engraved At The Place In The Mall That Engraves Zippos, Jacketed Hollow Point, Wire Guided.
Nice scope reticle too.
Thanks for the replies. I know it would be cheaper to shoot the milsurp corrosive ammo, but being a new Dad, my free time is fairly limited. I can't always get to cleaning my guns on the same day I shoot, so I think the new manufacture would be my best bet.
Any gotchas to know about on...
I just made my first purchase from Aim Surplus with my C&R FFL. I'm kind of wondering if I did everything correctly. I faxed and confirmed receipt of my signed 03FFL, so that should be no problem.
On the order confirmation page, however, I saw there was a space for you to upload images of...
Thanks for all the replies everyone! What I was looking for was the HB 258 reference.
I wasn't sure if confiscations were to be expected in Texas in the event of a Katrina-like disaster. I can see that wouldn't be the case.
(Not that they could find them all anyway.)
