    CASE GAUGE

I plunk 45 auto, 9mm, .223 for my ARs, and .300 WM using Willis’ collet die which also doubles as a case gauge. I like the Lee factory crimp dies for my auto pistols. I never worry about ammo quality and doesn’t really take any time. Life is good at the range!

Loading ELD-X in Win .270 Problem

I believe part or all of the extra length comes from the plastic tip which does not deform like the lead tipped interlocks/interbonds. I have heard of people ordering different seating stems for the more pointed low drag bullets due to the difference in ogive over conventional bullets like the...

    6.5 Creed for Elk?

No- it won’t be faster at 300 yards. I would take a 270 over a creedmore, but long ago put my 270 away in favor of the 300WM, and later the 300 PRC. Why? Because elk are big animals, and even with the .270 I was wishing for more power at any range. A .270 is not more than adequate for elk...

    Looking for a new auto-loader

I wouldn’t get a 3.5” they just string out the payload longer. Asking an auto loader to cycle everything for under 1k is at all order. I like Beretta and Mossberg 930 or JM940. See which one fits you best and take it home

    Why do you reload ammunition?

Dad got me started reloading when I was 13. Bought me a rockchucker press I still use today. Dad, my two brothers and I were deer and elk hunters. I loaded 4 calibers one for my .270 WIN, for all of us. Still loading today 47 years later, and I still love to shoot. Winter, on a cold and...

    Shockwave, Tac-14, and short-barelled shotguns

stick with your plastic plastic then buddy. Your right all the metal triggers have chronic . Then quit picking on people here and I won’t jump on your case I like this forum! No a plastic trigger guard is not better. It’s done because it’s cheaper and in some cases lighter. They don’t make...

    Shockwave, Tac-14, and short-barelled shotguns

Uh, I’ll take metal over plastic thanks. Like Breech said, there are positive differences. When your plastic trigger breaks you might remember what I said. And in 75 years the plastic garbage gun you gave your grandson won’t be worth much when the brittle plastic breaks and no replacements...

Did the pandemic slow the growth of the 6.5 PRC?

I don’t do competition anymore but still hunt. I killed many elk and deer with my .270, but decided I NEEDED more power for elk and went the other direction in the 300prc and 300 win mag. The 6.5’s and less are all under powered for elk, and so none of the man bun rounds ever caught on with me...

    Really digging this little Sig

I bought the P365x. It’s smaller than the XL, same fantastic grip, flat trigger, metal night sights, optics ready, flat base mags with no crappy loose feeling mag extension, and like someone already stated shoots like a bigger gun. I liked all the 365’s but for me the P365x is perfect. I like...

    Sig P365 vs P365XL?

I bought the new P365X-best of the two combined. I did not like the mag extended grip on the 365 it felt loose and cheesy to me where-as the grip on the 365X is solid, flat, and has a flaired mag well to boot which helps with quick mag exchanges. I also can get my pinky on the grip. Shoots...

    I Am Not Well...

Winchester 94/22. I have three 22 rifles I can drive nails with: a lever, bolt, and 10/22 target. I love hunting and plinking with th lever. You can shoot short ammo and probably CB caps with the lever and bolt guns when quiet and low power situations are warranted, too.
