Not even my rifle and I’d love to know it’s entire history. Even though I’ll never know it. His father traded an unknown .22 pistol for it. If the rifle could only talk.
Great point. That makes sense because it looks nothing like the manual. Safety is along side the trigger with a screw on it and bolt is very different.
Mystery rifle solved. He was correct about no visible markings on the barrel. After pulling the stock off, it’s on the bottom of the barrel, completely hidden by the stock. Winchester Model 70.
I’m going to get with him soon to get more details. Even talking him through it, this was all he could come up with. I’m kinda expecting to find all information once I look at it. More to follow.
A friend just reacquired this rifle from his junior high school years. Early 1980’s. He says it’s a .243 but not sure of make. Says there are no markings that says manufacturer. Is this a Sturm Ruger logo? I looked up the serial number on Ruger website and it has no record of it...
Trust me, never gonna give up on my 10’s. I’ll email Tisas and get an idea from them and tinker around with ejector.
Never a bad idea to check other forums. Tons of knowledge out there.
What might be the cause of this? This has only happened maybe 3 or 4 times out of close to a thousand rounds fired. It has never failed to load the next round either. Has never jammed. The Tisas has a very stiff slide. By the way, it’s an awesome firearm. More curiosity than concern...
Load a primer by itself and shoot it. I don’t use Winchester primers, but it could be some kind of new “friendlier” chemical compound. They certainly look used though
I use the same block as 9mm. I use a 90gr JHP from Everglades Ammo. They have options from 88gr up to 100gr. Using 3.4gr of W244, I chronoed mine averaging 985fps. I’m happy with them.
I used a LabRadar and got these numbers with Titegroup. I’ve started experimenting with W244 and am liking it for a few pistol loads. Titegroup is not a bad powder. I get some good accuracy with it.
I had to do the same thing with my new Tisas 10mm and a Kimber Aegis Elite. Had to tighten the crimp up just a hair. Springfield XDm 10mm eats everything I feed her, same with XDe .45 and Auto Ordnance .45. Only had a few hundred of each though. Time consuming, but simple enough job...
I have found that my Marlin micro groove and Henry 357 do not care for polymer bullets. I use either Acme or Eggleston. They still hit target at 100 yards, but grouping is not very good. Most of my pistols at 25 yards are decent with them. It was nice to be able to get bullets from them at...
I’m going to compare wearing soft body armor to wearing a face mask during the Covid scare, or even those that still choose to wear one. They are not comfortable. They do get hot. They are not 100%. If you’re worried enough that you feel you need/want to wear one, by all means. If a...
